Flying Flea, the design-led city+ mobility brand endorsed by Royal Enfield, has been awarded the prestigious Red Dot Award in the ‘Design Concept’ category for its Flying Flea C6 (FF.C6).
The recognition marks a milestone for the brand, reinforcing its design-first ethos and ambition to redefine urban mobility.
The FF.C6 is the first product in the Flying Flea lineup and draws inspiration from the original Royal Enfield Flying Flea motorcycle of the 1940s.’
Originally developed for WWII, the lightweight machines were famously airdropped by parachute to provide versatile, all-terrain mobility.
The new FF.C6 channels that same spirit of lightness, agility, and adaptability, bridging the legacy of the past with the innovation of the future.
Commenting on the win, Sivakumar S, Head, Industrial Design, Flying Flea and Royal Enfield Electric Vehicles, said, “The FF.C6 is about carrying an incredible story forward through its design language. Every line and detail expresses our belief that technology should serve emotion as much as function. The Red Dot recognition validates our vision of building machines that inspire people to live lightly and rethink city mobility.”
The FF.C6 features a minimalist silhouette, with a floating saddle, true-round display, teardrop tank, and an artistic high-tensile exoskeleton frame.
The magnesium-cased battery incorporates functional fins that merge forward-looking technology with heritage design cues, while the modernised girder fork showcases mechanical elegance and tactile feedback.
Together, these details aim to make electric mobility accessible, expressive, and emotionally engaging.
Flying Flea’s cultural initiatives have also reinforced its design-first positioning.
At Salone del Mobile 2025, it unveiled Motototem, an art installation by LA-based artist Mattia Biagi, while collaborations with Paris’ École Duperré have seen the brand’s ethos reinterpreted through fashion, installations, and storytelling.
The next phase will be showcased at Paris Design Week 2025, furthering Flying Flea’s ambition to blur boundaries between design, mobility, and cultural expression.
