Does Vivo X70 Pro Really Redefine Photography?

First things first! As soon as you open the premium-looking box, you are reminded of what this smartphone represents. “Photography. Redefined.” is the first thing you see when you open the box, and it instantly reminds you that Vivo X70 Pro is all about neat and premium photography.

Along with the smartphone, a TPU or a transparent case, a 44W charger, a C-type cable and good quality Vivo earphones are offered inside the box.

Vivo X70 Pro has curved glass and a glass-metal sandwich design with a beautiful colour that adds more grace to the smartphone. The multicolour design turns slightly greenish and bluish as light falls on it. It is slightly slim and weighs around 190gms.

Now let’s talk about what each side of the smartphone consists of. At the bottom, there’s a speaker grille, a Type C port, a microphone and a sim card tray. The left-hand side is immaculate. The top has a noise-cancelling microphone and an IR blaster. For those who are unaware of what an IR blaster is, it uses electronic bursts of electromagnetic radiations to communicate with everyday devices in your home, like TVs and DVRs. On the right, there’s a volume rocker and a power button.

Vivo X70 Pro has a 6.5-inch FHD+ AMOLED screen with a 120Hz fast refresh rate. Now, what I noticed between Vivo X70 Pro Plus and its younger sibling X70 Pro is that Pro Plus has an LTPO screen, which means that it is an adaptive fast refresh rate screen; from 1Hz to 120Hz will adapt according to your usage. X70 Pro, on the other hand, has the LTPS screen, which does not adapt but has a fast refresh rate.

I have also noticed that a lot of junkware apps like Amazon, Josh, Phonepe, ShareChat, Spotify, and a few others come pre-installed on the smartphone. You can remove or uninstall these apps if they are of no use to you.

The Vivo X70 Pro runs on a customized MediaTek Dimensity 1200 processor. It has a base variant of 8GB+128GB and 12GB+126GB internal. The smartphone has a 4500 mAh battery and comes with fast charging.

Here comes the most exciting part! The Camera. As soon as you flip the phone to the back, you know there is something very interesting, very spectacular about its camera. There is a ZEISS T* logo on the lens, which gives the smartphone a premium feel. Sony cameras often have the T* logo humbly displayed on their lens.

Due to these T* coating, while clicking a portrait, the colours look richer and better. Because of the layer, the ghosting and flares that occur during low-light photos get eliminated.

Not only does the phone allow you to take incredible night images, but there is also a Super Night Video Mode which allows you to take night videos. Isn’t that awesome?

There is a quad-camera setup and neither of those seems like a gimmick, making each one equally useful. All four cameras have optical image stabilization which is pretty rare even in premium and high-end smartphones.

Vivo X70 Pro has 50MP Sony IMX766 wide camera, 12MP ultra-wide camera, 12MP telephoto, and 8MP Periscope camera. On the front, there’s a 32MP selfie sensor.

Vivo X70 Pro has excellent gimbal stabilization, and that is what makes this smartphone stand out. I tested the gimbal mode on this phone, and I loved it to the core. There were very few jerks in the camera even though I was running, and in the walking mode, the camera gave a cinematic experience.

If you are pretty specific about the camera, this is one smartphone you should have on your checkout list. If you can get your hands onto Vivo X70 Pro in a store or somewhere, check the specifications out yourself, and you would definitely feel the premium quality that the smartphone offers.

iPhone 13 Pro Max VS 12 Pro Max VS Android | Review

When Apple added the tagline, “Oh. So. Pro.” under the iPhone 13 Pro Max, to attract consumers, we had no choice but to believe in the company and wait till the launch. When the phone arrived at our office for a review, we realized what Apple said about the iPhone 13 Pro Max was absolutely true as it is the best iPhone ever and features the best camera update along with the best battery life ever on iPhones.

Before moving ahead with the top 5 elements of the iPhone 13 Pro Max, lets first take a look at the common smartphone buying scenario, you’ll find there are three kinds of smartphone buyers in the world now, one who has an iPhone 11 series or before that, the second one who has bought iPhone 12 Pro Max in October 2020 when it was launched and the last ones are Android users who have been forever wanting to switch to apple but haven’t moved to the ship yet.

Now, if you’re the first type of buyer, I would recommend you go for iPhone 13 Pro Max as it’s the best one in the market, worth every penny and you will get a completely updated smartphone which you won’t have to change for another 3-4 years unless Apple drops foldable screen, obliterates notch and adds a fingerprint scanner. Well, these are the three things that I am personally looking forward to but if you have the money buy it now.

If you’re the second type of buyer who has already drilled a hole in a wallet with the iPhone 12 Pro Max, then stay put and be prepared to live your life without the features such as Pro-Motion, Cinematic Mode, Bigger Battery, and 120Hz refresh rate. And for the last type of buyers, switching from Android to Apple is a never-ending journey as the only similarity between the two is the first alphabet of their names.

Battery:

Unfortunately, even in iPhone 13 lineup, you can’t see your battery percentage without pulling down the control center, but all 2021 iPhones come with increased battery capacity, and in the case of the iPhone 13 Pro Max’ battery life, it has a 4352 mAh battery, about 18% more than its predecessor iPhone 12 Pro Max, which has 3687 mAh of battery capacity.

This is a huge upgrade and the gigantic battery can last long for a day at least. When I was on a business trip to Pondicherry, I watched a movie in Full HD resolution on the 13 Pro Max from 6 AM to 9 AM during my flight. Later on, I used the GPS from Chennai to Pondicherry, clicked a few photos during halts, made videos for the gram, and still, at the end of the day, by 10 PM, it had some juice left for me, which is simply incredible and ensures it has the most optimized battery ever in a smartphone today.

Resolution & Refresh Rate:

The Apple iPhone 13 Pro Max has a small bezel around the screen like its older siblings, and it even has the exact screen sizes and resolutions: 6.7 inches at 1284 x 2778 pixels and~458 PPI density with super retina XDR OLED. The significant difference between the two Pro Max’s is in the 13 Pro Max, you get a 120Hz refresh rate and 1000 nits HBM, whereas, in the 12 Pro Max, you get a 60 Hz Refresh Rate and 800 nits. The refresh rate experience is so seamless and fluid in the 13 Pro Max that once you get used to it. But the taste of the pudding is in the eating if you have not used the 13 pro max then you can still live happily with the 12 Pro Max.

Camera & Optics :

The camera system in iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max is identical, and you don’t have to buy the most expensive phone in the lineup to get the best photos. The camera on the iPhone 13 Pro device is advertised as the biggest advancement ever as it offers the Pro-Motion and Cinematic Mode Experience. In terms of camera comparison of the 12 Pro Max and 13 Pro Max, it’s a one-sided game, and discussing it is a complete waste of time.

With the launch of the 13 Pro Max, Apple dropped the best camera smartphone ever. Apple has added improved low-light capability and Night Mode to all three 12MP sensors on the rear of the Pro Max, and the company has also added a feature of a nifty macro photography mode to the phone for a better camera experience. The feature helps the handset shift automatically to an ultrawide camera when you get close to objects, and the effects are stellar.

Since the iPhone 13 Pro Max saves the videos raw, the depth map and the defined focus point stand separate, allowing the video’s focus to be edited afterward not only on the iPhone 13 itself but also on other devices. Currently, Cinematic Mode is available only for the wide-angle, telephoto cameras on the back and the selfie camera.

Chipset:

iPhone 13 Pro Max’s chipset A15 Bionic blows the door off of Android phones as it is extremely fast and gives the phone the title of the world’s fastest phone. The 12 Pro Max has an A14 Bionic, and you’ll know the actual difference between A14 and A15 when you are multitasking and gaming. The new 6-core CPU in the A15 chip is 20-50 % faster than most smartphones, including A14 and snapdragon 888. A15 can process 15.8 trillion operations per second, roughly about 40% more capable than the A14’s 11 trillion operations per second.

Cinematic mode – The Final Nail:

One of the fascinating features of the 2021 iPhones is the Cinematic Mode, which is a total game-changer. Cinematic Mode is basically Portrait Mode, but for video. This mode applies a depth-of-field effect that keeps the focus point of your video sharp while creating a beautifully blurred foreground and background. It also mimics professional videography techniques by adding on-the-fly depth of field effects to recognized subjects. Software algorithms are used to detect and focus on people, pets, and objects, which are made to stand out against blurred backgrounds. With Cinematic Mode, Apple has changed the battlefield where, along with smartphones, even purebred imaging companies like Nikon, Canon, Fujifilm should begin to worry.

Let me try to explain this – Depth of the field in cinematic mode is an illusion, digital illusion rather. When you film, everything is in focus before the computer separates what it perceives as the foreground, background, and everything in between. Now you can decide whether or not to upgrade from the 12 pro max.

Now let’s address the Third Android type – If you are wondering then let me tell you that the closest phone which comes to the 13pro max is still the Samsung S21ultra 5G.

OnePlus Blames the Recent Charger Explosion to External Factors

OnePlus Nord 2 5G charger is back again in the headline with another harrowing user experience, which puts the company in a tight spot. The incident happened with a Bangalore-based software engineer, Jimmy Jose, who connected his charger to a socket for quick charging, which unfortunately resulted in a huge blast. The concerned user tagged the Twitter profiles of OnePlus India and OnePlus Support in a series of tweets and explained what exactly happened?

Previously, Delhi-based lawyer Gaurav Gulati had claimed that his OnePlus Nord 2 smartphone exploded in his gown. The incident happened when the lawyer was sitting in his chamber, and when he complained about the same to bring the company’s attention to the incident, he was left stranded. Going further, he filed a lawsuit against the OnePlus, to which the company sent him a cease-and-desist notice, stating that he has been defaming the company by posting false statements on social media.

In both the cases and even during a similar incident that occurred in Bengaluru a month ago, where a OnePlus Nord 2 5G exploded in a woman’s sling bag, the company said that the explosion happened due to external factors and not due to any manufacturing or design defects. In the case of Jimmy Jose, the OnePlus technician said the incident occurred due to an issue with the socket or a voltage fluctuation and promised to provide a replacement charger.

“We take any claim like this very seriously. The user has handed over the damaged OnePlus Charger to our service centre and has been offered a replacement. OnePlus chargers contain built-in capacitors which control and store energy. In this case, after a thorough analysis, the capacitors have remained intact concluding that the blast has been caused by external factors such as voltage fluctuations.” OnePlus mentioned in a statement and strongly urges users to follow safety precautions and warnings specified in its user manual.

Meanwhile, in the case of a Delhi-based Lawyer, the company said that it couldn’t perform a proper diagnosis as the user refused to give them the device and sent a legal notice to the lawyer to give self-contradictory and false statements. Overall, the company refused to accept that all three blasts were caused by manufacturing issues or design defects and blamed it directly on external circumstances such as voltage fluctuations caused by the rainstorm, not taking certain safety precautions and warnings specified in its user manual.

Feeling Anxious & Depressed? Open Your iPhone

The iPhone development team must have heard this song, “Jhuki Jhuki Si Nazar,” from the movie “Arth.” A perfect song by Jagjit Singh, which tells that face is a perfect place where you breed your expressions and notions. That’s why an announcement has come from the tech giant Apple that iPhone will exhibit a feature in the future to detect mental depressions and cognitive decline present in you. How? Let’s get to know more about this news from here.

Seabreeze Pi

Apple has collaborated with the University of California and Biogen (a pharmaceutical company) to develop a new feature in the future iPhones that will check mental depressions which you are going through. According to the Wall Street Journal report, Apple will use a sensor that will assess how a person types, the sleep period of a user, physical activity time, etc., to read current mental status. Apple is already working with the University of California to study stress and anxiety among humans, for which 3000 people volunteered. The project name of Apple UCLA (University of California, Los Angeles) is Seabreeze, while that of Apple and Biogen is Pi.

Technology behind these Projects

The core and key technology that will run behind these projects is facial recognition. It is for sure that UCLA has somewhere assessed the facial expression of the volunteers. Accordingly, they will store the same data in their database as the train data. This data will allow the system to understand the current notion of the person). The concerned team, just for easy mapping, may give an index number to that particular expression. So, when the CV (computer vision) will read your face, it will compare the same with the index number. By that comparison, it will tell you your current mental health profile.

How will it help?

First of all, this feature can help showcase whether you are developing symptoms of severe mental diseases like Alzheimer’s, dementia, etc., or not. Considering the stats related to such diseases, that is no less than a catastrophe; globally, more than 44 million patients are suffering from this problem. In India, it is 4 million patients. Hence, it may help people to let them understand whether their current mental condition is not aggravating.

Final Remarks

Even the research is currently in its nascent stage. But, there is an assurance that this technology will bolster the concept of digital health and well-being. However, the concern will be somewhere on privacy that iPhone will store the data in offline mode and won’t upload it to the Apple servers in any way. However, it is still not confirmed by Apple that the release of the iPhone 13 will happen in that event or not. But as per the hints given by Apple in its invite that bought us with the augmented reality AR experience, we can make out that the launch will be a big one.

Since last year, to boost up its announcements, a record of offering AR Easter eggs has been made by Apple. The Tim- cook led team Has raised the platform and advised that the upcoming Apple iPhone inauguration should be with AR experience this time, which will take the iPhone lovers to the next level experience.

Samsung Galaxy M52 5G’s Support Page has Gone Live on Samsung India’s Website

The support page of the Samsung Galaxy M52 5G smartphone has gone live on the company’s official website. Previously, the leaked images and specifications of the phone have appeared multiple times on different websites, but now the handset with model number M-M526B/DS has popped up on Samsung India’s official website, which means the device will soon hit the Indian markets.

The Samsung M series is one of the most loved series by the Indian audience, and they’ve been waiting for the launch of the Samsung Galaxy M52 5G for a long time. Smartphone companies create phone support pages when the phones are about to launch, but sadly, the company hasn’t revealed any details about the launch date, price and specifications on the support page.

The yet-to-be-launched smartphone has passed through several certification websites, including the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) website, the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) website and Bluetooth SIG. iPhone 13 Might Release On THIS Date! Check Out

September 2021 could also be named as Month of Apple as we can expect a lot of new Apple products to launch anytime this month. In this list, we have the Apple Watch 7, iPhone 13 and Airpods 3.

If we look back at Apple’s previous launch, we can make out that this release may be displayed on the 4th Friday of September. That would be September 24th, which states that the pre-orders could be starting on September 17th. However, keeping the COVID-19 pandemic in mind, the event will probably be completely virtual.

A survey of US iPhone owners suggests that 44% of the Apple owners are waiting to buy the new iPhone 13. Keeping in mind the high demand, Apple has reportedly hired more workers, and Apple suppliers are ready to raise bonuses to keep enough people working.

In such a situation, there are possibilities that the eagerness of those who are waiting for it can be lowered down if there’s a delay. According to the rumours, the new iPhone may have upgraded cameras and displays. It is also very strongly in whispers that the name of the new iPhone could not be iPhone 13 but iPhone 12s.

There has been a lot of changes in the looks and characteristics of the iPhone 12, which was released last year. So this time, the changes might not be very drastic. So expecting not too much could be better. Whatever the rumours might suggest, but the real picture will appear only after the official release of the iPhone 13.

There are a lot of other Apple products also expected to release this year, but for this one, it is best to say to wait till September ends.

iPhone 13’s Satellite Connectivity Just For Emergencies

Yesterday, we reported how iPhone 13 could possibly have satellite connectivity to send phone calls and messages without cellular coverage. Industry analyst Ming-Chi Kuo told investors last week that Apple’s new iPhone 13 would be able to tap into signals of low-Earth Orbit satellites.

Bloomberg has now reported that the new feature will be limited to emergencies only. The iPhone 13 would only use those signals to text emergency services, emergency contacts, or report a crisis.

Kuo informed that Globalstar could be the satellite communication company collaborating with Apple on the service.

One feature, called Emergency Message via Satellite, will let you text emergency services and emergency contacts when you don’t have a cell signal by harnessing a satellite network. These messages will also have a length limit and be represented as a grey bubble instead of the regular green and blue used for SMS and iMessage. While sending this message to an emergency contact, it will pop up on their screen even if the Do Not Disturb mode is on to ensure that your message is seen.

Another feature will let users report emergencies. “The phone will ask what kind of emergency is happening, such as whether it involves a car, boat, plane or fire,” Bloomberg reports.

However, Bloomberg’s new report does throw cold water on Apple’s satellite offerings at its launch. An unidentified person told Bloomberg that while the iPhone could have the necessary hardware for satellite communications at launch, we shouldn’t expect to see it in action before next year.

A source tells Bloomberg that the new features probably won’t be ready before next year, discarding the idea that you might be able to use them as soon as you buy the next iPhone. Plus, the feature is still in flux and could be changed or discarded entirely before release.
