LG’s Humongous 325-inch 8K TV Weighs 2000 Pounds & Costs Over ₹12 Crore

If you’re one of those zealous people who are missing cinema hall escapades due to ongoing pandemic restrictions and can’t wait to watch your favourite movie star on a big screen instead of small smartphone/laptop screens. In that case, LG has something to cure your inner cravings.

The South Korean multinational electronics company have announced a new lineup of Direct View LED (DVLED) home cinema displays, ranging from a massive 108-inch HD panel to a humongous 325-inch 8K panel. As per the CNET report, the biggest one in the lineup weighs over 2,000 pounds and costs $1.7 million (roughly 12.5-crore).

What is DVLED?

Direct view LED video walls, also called DVLED display, is a video display technology that uses light-emitting diodes to produce bright, vibrant colours. Their pixel is the smallest element of a picture, creating a single part of the colour with true pixel and virtual pixel configuration.

All of the DVLED Extreme Home Cinema screens with the 0.9mm COB LED Package type use MicroLED, and they can adapt to any indoor and outdoor environment. DVLED’s are seamless, bezel-free, and a better place to install them is design rooms, museums, galleries, board rooms and hospitality.

LG DVLED TV’s

Earlier, people had only a few options, such as Samsung’s The Wall and Sony’s Crystal LED TVs, but now they have one more option to consider in the name of LG. The company has previously reserved these massive displays for commercial buyers, but now they’re making them available for regular buyers who are ready to spend lavishly.

According to a CNET report, LG is using small-sized LEDs, similar to what we’ve witnessed in Samsung’s The Wall and Sony’s Crystal LED TV’s instead of an LCD layer to create pixels and deepest black levels without the risk of burn-in, a challenging task for anyone in the business.

In general, most of the screens offer a regular 16:9 aspect ratio, but LG is also selling 32:9 versions if any consumer wants to watch two video feeds side by side at one time. The company has successfully executed one of their best innovations with the launch of LG’s massively priced DVLED TV sets, which now makes $1,00,00 rollable OLED TV sounds more affordable.

LG’s new DVLED displays can easily replace the decade-old high-end projectors, but only if you’re ready to deal with its expensive price. Clearly, these massive home theatre displays won’t be making it into the living rooms of most households, but we have to appreciate the efforts as creating such an enormous display is not everyone’s cup of tea.

Amazon Planning To Release Amazon-Branded TV in October

There’s no stopping for Amazon. It seems like the company is spreading its legs across all the markets, big or small. According to the news by Insider, Amazon is set to release Amazon-branded TVs in the market as soon as October in the US.

The TVs will have Alexa, screen sizes “in the range of 55 to 75 inches,” and will be designed and manufactured by third parties such as TCL, Insider reports. The report also suggests that Amazon is also developing a TV designed in-house, but its release is still unclear.

However, this new market domain of TV is nothing new to Amazon. The company already partners with BestBuy to sell Toshiba and Insignia TVs that runs Amazon’s Fire TV software. The company also offers an AmazonBasics branded Tv in India.

The launch, involving teams from Amazon Devices and Lab126, has been in the works for almost two years. The TVs, which will be powered by the voice assistant Alexa, is currently being designed and manufactured by third parties, including TLC, the report cited.

In other Amazon-related news, CEO Andy Jassy said on September 1 that the company is planning to hire 55,000 people for corporate and technology roles globally in the coming months. That’s equal to more than a third of Google’s headcount as of June 30 and close to all of Facebook’s.

LG’s OLED TV Will Now Launch in 2022 Instead of This Year

After hearing the news of its launch at CES 2021, everybody was excited that they will get to see a more compact OLED panel this year, as LG promised to release it in mid-2021.

However, the Korean Economic Daily says it has been postponed to 2022 instead of releasing it this year. Though the resources also told that it is not delayed due to any problem related to its production. According to the Korean Economic Daily, it is one of LG’s marketing strategies to market its 42-inch compact OLED panel this year and then bring it to the market later in 2022.

Delaying the launch for the advertising purpose could be one of the solid reasons for LG’s other OLED TVs, as it will be a bit difficult for LG to compel its customers to buy this TV, which is smaller in size; As compared to the A-1 series or the LED G-1 Evo and C-1 lineups.

LG’s new OLED TV will ideally have a 120HZ refresh rate display with multiple HDMI 2.1 ports that allow 120 frames per second. It would also support the features that can make gaming appear better and more comfortable. Therefore, it should also provide auto-low latency mode and support variable refresh rate(VRR).

After talking about the properties of this TV, if we think about the price, one should not expect it to be quite affordable. Compared to the LG C-1 48 inch price, which is originally priced at $1499.99,  this TV can be expected to cost less than this due to its small size.

The TV’s 42-inch size with OLED panel stands between TV and gaming monitor. And there are plenty of ample gaming monitor options with good features, but none have an OLED panel. So it will be an ideal option for a gamer with desk space.

Jio Fiber Users Can Use JioJoin App To Make Video Calls From TV

We’ve missed a lot of events, functions and ceremonies due to the pandemic and its after-effects. Over a year, we’ve managed to watch our friends getting married or celebrating someone’s birthday through WhatsApp calls, but being there at the moment has its perks.

Well, technology can not put you at the live event, but if you’re a Jio Fiber user, you can skip the small smartphone screen and make video calls from your TV. Jio has launched a new feature named ‘Camera on Mobile’ for its Jio Fiber users, where they can make video calls from their TVs without even connecting their TV’s to an external camera or a webcam.

The feature would let users make video calls from their TVs using the JioJoin app, previously termed the JioCall app. The app is available on Google Play Store and Apple’s App Store; after downloading the app, users will be required to download a 10-digit JioFiber number to connect their Android smartphones and iOS devices with the TV which enables video-calling through the JioFiberVoice.

Once you’ve completed the configuration process, you can enable the ‘Camera on Mobile’ feature from the app. The enabling option will turn your smartphone into a web camera to make video calls via your TV. Jio Fiber users can use the same app to make voice calls using their landline number.

A step-by-step guide to help you use Jio’s ‘Camera on Mobile’ feature:

  1. Download the JioJoin app (works on Android phones running 6.0 and newer and iOS 10.0 and newer)
  2. Download the 10-digit Jio Fiber number and configure it on the JioJoin app
  3. Enable the ‘Camera on Mobile’ feature in the JioJoin app settings
  4. The option will turn your phone into a web camera, place it alongside the TV to make video calls

Furthermore, Jio has urged users to get a 5GHz Wi-Fi band on their modems to experience better connectivity and quality in their video calls. The “Camera on Mobile’ feature will be beneficial for Smart TV’s that do not provide an inbuilt webcam.

Best QLED TVs of 2021: Visuals, Entertainment & Experience

Many remember Ashton Kutcher for his acting in No Strings Attached and What Happened in Vegas and sometimes forget about his punching lines in JOBS. There’s one line where he says about innovation and tells the people that unless and until their product doesn’t amplify their imagination, it’s impossible to predict whether people will like that product or not. Touching hearts and going beyond imagination is what sometimes people seek. QLED TVs have captured the mind by showcasing the new methodology of entertainment. Since half the year has passed, we will like to discuss today some of the coolest TVs. Through this Exhibit article, we will talk about the best QLED TVs of 2021.

Samsung Neo QLED QN90A

This QLED TV from Samsung has given an air-tight competition to several OLEDs due to its superior performance by its mini-LED panel, NEO QLED. It got more acceptance than its predecessor Q90T because of it being available at a better affordable rate. The best part of this QLED TV is its screen size and screen refresh rate, due to which a customer like you will experience better visualization. However, one must note that the screen size comes in different variants – 55 inches, 65 inches, and 75 inches.

Hisense U8G Android TV

Two words find their space in almost every single thing – Chinese and Android. Yeah, that’s true in every aspect as a truth spoken by Jack Sparrow to Elizabeth in the Dead Man’s Chest. Well, here we have another QLED TV – Hisense U8G Android TV. This TV also has the same screen size and refresh rate as that of Samsung Neo QLED QN90A. However, if you consider the price at which it is available against the sharpness, color, and contrast, you will definitely choose this one for sure. But, the hiccup that you may face with this QLED TV is motion smoothing.

Vizio M-Series Quantum MQ6

If you use a term like quantum, people start thinking that you will open the second version of Concepts of Physics by Dr. HC Verma and read the Modern Physics chapter. But, such terms sometimes add sophistication and style too. Well, if you talk about this QLED TV, you will say that Vizio M-Series Quantum can disappoint on the visual front if compared with the ones mentioned above. But, things get compensated at the audio quality end. In addition, you will find this Vizio QLED TV a lot lighter.

TCL 6 Series/R635

Well, if you watch anything in it, the very first statement that you will have is that HDR content is awesome. The quality of brightness and a better contrast ratio can let you see every detail you always wanted to see. The good thing about this product is that it has an in-built Roku platform added to its firmware. Hence, you can download many apps for your entertainment. The narrow viewing angle may be a bit of an issue for you, but you must appreciate the rest.

OnePlus Q1 Series 4K Certified Android QLED TV 55Q1IN Pro

OnePlus is that name for those who wanted something lucrative and luxurious but were unable to afford Apple. Hence, there is an assurance that what equipment OnePlus is delivering has a quality. It has elegance due to the Dolby vision panel. Thinking about the audio? 50W stereo speakers. Any weak points on connectivity? Well, it has 4 HDMI ports, 2 USB ports, 1 Ethernet port, and 1 Toslink port. That’s a whopping one!

Conclusion

2021 has brought the baggage of many surprises when it comes to movies, web series, Olympics, Euro Cup, and many other shows. Unless and until there’s a handsome amount of people getting vaccinated, Work From Home culture will prevail. Bring one QLED TV and create a balance between entertainment and work.

Vu 4K Android Smart TV (50CA) – Review | Quality Entertainment

Vu is spreading its wings in the television industry with its affordable range of smart TV’s. Vu’s Smart TV is another such attempt in this direction. The smart TV is made available in three screen sizes – 139cm (55-inch),126cm (50-inch) and 108 cm (43-inch). It comes with a DLED panel with a resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels. The smart TV is HDR10 compatible with a maximum brightness of 500 nits.

Before talking about the display, we will talk about setting up the TV, which is fairly easy. It comes with legs which can be screwed to the bottom of the TV (if you are using it as a stand-up on a platform). The legs are well built and compatible screws are supplied along with the packaging. Additionally, you can mount the TV on the wall using the supplied mount in the packaging. The TV has screw holes in the back of the chassis and so fixing it to your existing adjustable wall-mount is not going to be a challenge either. Plug it into the power and you will be taken through the setup process. It is better to have a speedy internet connection and you can connect via wi-fi or a wired LAN connection would do as well. You will need to log into the TV with your preferred Gmail account and the TV will sync to it noting your preferences.

The HDR10 supported display is very bright and crisp. I tried playing some travel 4K content from YouTube and the experience was amazing. Being a 4K enabled device, the picture quality is top-notch and the viewing experience is exhilarating.

I took to watching the Transformers movie franchise and soon ended up watching all the movies of the series because of the sheer pleasure of watching. The 500 nits of brightness is adequate and 50-inch screen size is good enough for a mid-sized room or even the hall for that matter. Moreover, the TV comes with Dolby Vision HDR support which rather amplifies the watching experience to a whole new level.

For audio, as I think of myself to be a purist, and have been using a dedicated audio receiver and a surround 5.1 setup. However, this TV comes with its own 40W speaker setup in the bottom with Dolby Audio support. This features had to be tested and I must say, it does not disappoint; not at all. With preset profiles for audio, you can select the audio according to your preference and use; music, cinema and standard which changes the way audio is delivered. Watching the movies with the sound from the TV was a delight and there was no moment where dialogue would disappear or the sound effect would seem muddy. For most users, the audio quality will be on par.

On the software front, it supports Android 9 Pie out of the box and comes preloaded with apps like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, YouTube, Hotstar and Google Play. The TV also has support for Google assistant. It comes with a host of connectivity options which include Bluetooth 5.0, Wifi, 3 HDMI, 2 USB, HDMI ARC, earphone jack, etc. Talking of hardware, the Smart TV is powered by a Quad-core A55 processor clocked at 1.2GHz and a Dual-core Mali470MP GPU. Besides this, the TV gets 1.5GB of RAM and 8GB of onboard storage.

Not once did the TV had a hiccup or any lag. Operation with the remote was smooth. If you leave the TV on for some time, you will see screensavers being displayed and later the TV will go into sleep mode (without switching off) shutting off the screen to save power. You can hit the power button on the remote to bring it back to life.

The software experience on this thing is smooth and lag-free. Moreover, the supplied remote has separate hotkeys for Netflix, YouTube, Amazon Prime Video, and Google Play Movies. Which allows one to swiftly switch between multiple apps.

Verdict

The Vu Smart Cinema TV brings great picture and audio quality to the table. It has support for Dolby Vision and Dolby Audio which is rare at this price bracket and is an excellent option for those looking for high definition entertainment on a budget. Those who are a fan of gaming on the consoles will find this TV to be a perfect choice for those high-end games, especially with the crisp 4K screen. Moreover, the TV comes with Android 9 providing a smooth and clutter-free experience. Vu Cinema TV is available in three variants in 43-inches, 50-inches and 55-inches which are priced at Rs 26,999/-, Rs 29,999/- and Rs 33,999/- respectively.

LG 65SM90 NanoCell TV AI ThinQ – Review | Nanoficent

Very few people might have heard about Artificial Intelligence (AI) in TVs, and now almost every budget smartphone has AI in it. The beauty of technology is that as time passes by they start becoming accessible to the common man. Last year LG’s ThinQ was India’s first AI TV that offered an interactive experience and enabled the user to control the different functions in their TV. However, the changes after one year aren’t that significant. We find out precisely how good these new updates are which are carried forward into this year. Are they really magnificent?

How Does It Look?
The emphasis on developing the Nano Cell technology has been huge also keeping in mind that there is no compromise on the TV’s aesthetics. For a 65-inch TV, its wide viewing angles deliver pretty accurate picture quality and the fact that it has Nano bezel further elevates its viewing experience. It also comes with a Bluetooth based Magic Motion Remote that will make you lazier than ever. You can operate it from almost all possible angles and can even speak in it to control different AI-enabled functions. This function is truly tailor-made for individuals who like to get their hands dirty in the kitchen and at the same time watch its recipe on the big TV.

How Does It Perform?
LG’s ThinQ technology enables the user to give voice commands to control your AI-enabled home appliances. LG with the 2nd Gen α (Alpha) 7 processor does a magnificent job in delivering crisp videos with the right amount of clarity and sharpness. It was really difficult to notice any sort of difference when the AI was switched on for video and sound. The difference was barely recognizable. Nevertheless, there are a lot of features like the HDMI 2.1 port which delivered superb response time while gaming along with the in-built Dolby Atmos surround sound gave us an exhilarating experience. The easy access to Netflix and Amazon Prime Video with just a click of a button on the Magic Remote made life easier if I wanted to quickly switch on streaming videos from YouTube or Cable. One more cool feature that impressed me was the TV’s ability to simultaneously show your mobile’s content with your Football match happening in the background. You will never miss a goal!

Verdict
The price is on the steep side, but when you are asking for top-notch features on a TV, you will have to break the bank! Having said that, you will not be disappointed with LG’s Nano Cell technology and the clarity it offers. This Ultra 4K OLED TV from LG will surely be a worthy add-on to your AI smart home appliances.
