    CONS 👎

    • No Battery Indication

Redmi Buds 5C stands out as an affordable TWS option with active noise cancellation (ANC), a lightweight build, and long battery life. But is it perfect? Not quite. Priced at ₹1,799, the Redmi Buds 5C offers solid value, though a few hiccups prevent it from being flawless.

Here's an in-depth review of Redmi Buds 5C

    Design

    Redmi Buds 5C

The Redmi Buds 5C shines in the design department with its compact, square-shaped charging case that fits easily in your hand. It’s available in three colours, Acoustic Black, Bass White, and Symphony Blue, offering a modern aesthetic for any style preference. I tested the Symphony Blue variant, and it didn’t disappoint in the looks department.

However, the case lacks a visible battery indicator, forcing users to check battery levels via the Xiaomi Earbuds app. This can be inconvenient, especially since pairing the buds with an iPhone offers even less information. The case itself features a Type-C charging port and a simple pairing button, keeping things functional, though not particularly innovative.

    Connectivity

Pairing the Redmi Buds 5C is a breeze, thanks to Google Fast Pair. Once initially set up, the buds automatically connect as soon as the case is opened. I tested them with both Android and iOS devices, and the connection was consistently quick and reliable.

    Sound Quality

Audio quality is where the Redmi Buds 5C truly shines. Equipped with 12.4mm dynamic titanium drivers, the buds deliver crisp, clear sound with deep bass. The active noise cancellation is particularly effective, especially in noisy environments like public transport or busy offices. There are three ANC modes, Noise Cancellation, Transparency, and Off, allowing users to adapt to their surroundings easily.

The transparency mode is a nice middle ground, letting some ambient noise through for safety while out walking or commuting. Redmi also includes five sound profiles to suit different preferences – Standard, Enhance Treble, Enhance Bass, Enhance Voice, and Custom. Personally, I found the “Enhance Bass” profile to be a standout. All sound settings can be adjusted in the Xiaomi Earbuds app.

    Battery Life

One of the strongest aspects of the Redmi Buds 5C is its battery life. With moderate to heavy use (around 5-6 hours a day), I only needed to charge the case once every five days. The earbuds charge quickly to full in less than an hour, though the case takes a bit longer, reaching 50% in about an hour. Given the impressive battery performance, the longer charging time isn’t much of an issue.

    Verdict

At ₹1,799, the Redmi Buds 5C delivers great audio, reliable connectivity, and long battery life in a sleek, affordable package. While it has a few minor flaws, such as the lack of a battery indicator on the case, these are easily overlooked, given its performance and price. Overall, the Redmi Buds 5C is a smart choice for anyone seeking good quality on a budget.
