BenQ Mobiuz EX271UZ Review: A Flagship OLED Built to Dominate

OLED is undeniably the future of displays, promising perfect blacks, infinite contrast, and visuals that grab you into the game like never before. With panels maturing and prices dipping into premium-but-accessible territory, I was thrilled to receive the BenQ Mobiuz EX271UZ, a 27-inch 4th Gen QD-OLED beast praised as the world’s first “Game Art Monitor.” At ₹89,998, it’s positioned as a flagship for immersive gamers and creators. But does it upgrade my high-end PC and PS5 setup to next-level glory? Let’s dive in and find out.

    Design & Build

Unboxing the EX271UZ feels premium from the get-go. The monitor arrives in a sturdy box with all the essentials, including a power cable, HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort, USB-C, a remote control, and quick-start guides. The design screams “gaming flagship” without turning into an RGB overload, with a matte chassis and a thin bezel with no branding on the bezel or stand. At 27 inches, it’s the sweet spot for desk setups, weighing a manageable 8.5 kg.

Build quality is rock-solid. The slim 1mm bezels on three sides create an immersive edge-to-edge panel, perfect for multi-monitor or ultrawide vibes. What stands out is the attention to OLED longevity, a graphene film that protects against burn-in, and a 3-year OLED warranty, peace of mind I haven’t seen from any competitors.

Ports are a highlight, tucked neatly on the back with a joystick OSD for easy navigation. You’ve got two HDMI 2.1 (one with eARC for soundbars), DisplayPort 1.4, USB-C with 90W power delivery (game-changer for laptop charging), four USB 3.2 hubs, and a built-in KVM switch for seamless PC/console swapping. I plugged in my PS5, RTX 4090 rig, and MacBook effortlessly, no dongles needed. The included remote control lets me tweak settings from the couch, a luxury for console gamers.

    Performance & Features

Fire it up, and the EX271UZ delivers where it counts: jaw-dropping visuals. The 4th Gen QD-OLED panel rocks 4K UHD (3840×2160) at 240Hz refresh with a blistering 0.03ms GtG response time. Motion is buttery, zero blur in fast-paced titles like Doom Eternal or Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. I pushed it with Cyberpunk 2077 at 4K HDR, DLSS on, hitting 120-144fps on my 4090, and it was transformative. Perfect blacks made Night City’s neon pop against inky shadows. Colours are vibrant yet precise, no oversaturation, ideal for creators editing streams in Premiere.

The star feature? Smart Game Art with Colour Shuttle. This AI-driven wizard automatically detects game styles (sci-fi, fantasy, realistic, anime, cartoon) and optimizes contrast, vibrancy, and detail in real time. Input lag is unnoticeable (~2ms), and the 3:2 mode ensures crisp 120Hz console play. For streamers, the KVM switch lets me toggle between PC editing and PS5 grinding effortlessly, with USB-C charging my controller or laptop.

Burn-in worries? After 50+ hours of mixed use (FPS, RPGs, Netflix), no issues, OLED Care features like pixel shift and screen saver work subtly. Brightness hits 250 nits SDR/1000 nits HDR, plenty for my Mumbai-lit room, though direct sunlight might need tweaks.

    Verdict

The BenQ Mobiuz EX271UZ is a premium OLED monitor that offers stunning QD-OLED visuals and smooth 4K 240Hz gaming, making it ideal for immersive gamers and content creators. At ₹89,998, it’s pricey and lacks built-in speakers, but it features excellent connectivity options and surpasses competitors like the Samsung Odyssey OLED G8. For those upgrading from IPS/QD-LCD, this monitor significantly enhances the gaming and editing experience.
