    8.3 Verdict

The Cellecor CE-55U Pro 4K UHD QLED TV is a budget-friendly option that impresses with its bezel-less design and solid build quality. The 4K QLED display offers vibrant visuals, and the Google TV platform provides a responsive smart experience, although scrolling can be oversensitive at times. Dolby Audio enhances the sound, but audiophiles may prefer an external system. While it may not match the brightness or HDR performance of higher-end models, the 2-year warranty adds value. Overall, the CE-55U Pro balances style, performance, and affordability, making it a strong contender in the 55-inch 4K QLED market.

QLED technology, once the domain of premium brands like Samsung, has become increasingly accessible, transforming the TV market by offering vibrant colours, deep contrasts, and sharp visuals at competitive prices. Brands like Acer, Hisense, and now Cellecor are democratizing this technology, bringing high-quality displays to a broader audience. Cellecor, a rising name in consumer electronics, has entered the battle with its CE-55U Pro 4K UHD QLED TV, a 55-inch model powered by Google TV (a refined version of Android TV OS). Priced at ₹39,999, it offers a premium experience with features such as Dolby Audio, a bezel-less design, and robust smart functionality. But does it deliver on its promise, or is it just another budget QLED contender? Let’s find out.

    Build and Design

The Cellecor CE-55U Pro immediately catches the eye with its sophisticated, bezel-less metal aesthetic. The virtually invisible edges maximize screen real estate, creating an immersive viewing experience that rivals more expensive models. The premium metal frame not only adds durability. Unlike some budget TVs that compromise on build quality, the CE-55U Pro feels sturdy and well-crafted, avoiding the plasticky feel often associated with lower-priced options.

The TV comes with a stand that provides stable support for tabletop placement, ensuring it doesn’t wobble even on uneven surfaces. For those who prefer a wall-mounted setup, Cellecor includes a wall-mount kit in the box, offering flexibility for various room configurations. The package also includes a voice-enabled remote, which enhances usability with Google Assistant integration for hands-free control. The remote itself is ergonomic, with dedicated buttons for popular streaming apps like Netflix and YouTube, making navigation intuitive. However, the remote’s buttons can feel slightly mushy, which might detract from the premium experience for some users.

The back panel, also crafted from metal, houses a practical array of ports, including HDMI, USB, dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz), and Bluetooth, all of which are side-facing for easy access. While the metallic finish on the back adds to the premium aesthetic, it’s largely unseen when the device is wall-mounted, making it a minor but appreciated touch.

    Performance

At the heart of the Cellecor CE-55U Pro is its 4K Ultra HD QLED display, boasting a resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels. The QLED panel delivers vibrant colours, deep blacks, and razor-sharp details, making it a standout for watching movies, gaming, or streaming content. Testing with 4K UHD content, such as vibrant scenes from animated films, revealed rich colour reproduction, with reds and blues popping with great depth, and contrasts impressively crisp. The 178-degree viewing angle ensures consistent picture quality from various seating positions, making it ideal for group viewing.

The TV’s HDR10 compatibility enhances dynamic range, though its peak brightness, likely around 300-400 nits based on similar models, doesn’t fully exploit HDR’s potential compared to premium QLEDs. For instance, bright highlights in HDR content lack the punch of high-end models from Sony or Samsung. Still, for its price, the CE-55U Pro delivers a respectable visual experience, with minimal light bleed and good black levels for an LCD-based panel.

Powered by Google TV, the interface is a notable upgrade over older Android TV systems. The platform is responsive, with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. Navigating the Google TV interface feels fluid, with quick access to streaming services like Netflix, Amazon Prime, and YouTube via Google Cast. However, there is a slight quirk in responsiveness; pressing a button multiple times sometimes leads to overscrolling, which can be mildly frustrating during app navigation or menu browsing. This minor hiccup doesn’t significantly detract from the experience, but a firmware update could refine input precision.

Audio performance is a highlight, thanks to the integrated Dolby Audio system. The sound is rich and layered, with clear dialogue and immersive effects that enhance movie and gaming experiences. While the built-in two speakers(24W total) deliver a cinematic feel, bass-heavy scenes may benefit from an external soundbar or subwoofer for deeper low-end impact. Connectivity options, including dual-band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0, ensure seamless streaming and device pairing, with no noticeable lag during testing.
