When you follow your drive with passion, the destination is never far.
2. How do you inspire and motivate your team during a challenging time?
One has to build a strong team right from the start, so in a challenging time, it already stands together as one strong force. Values of respect, appreciation, trust, transparency and openness should be part of our behavior and reflect in every small action. Such a team can easily overcome any challenging times.
3. Tell us about a major challenge in your career—what went wrong and what did you learn?
There have been many challenges, and each one was a lesson that shaped my career. I remember early on, I was working for a company going through financial troubles, and I had the option to bail out. However, a conscious decision to stick longer gave me the experience of turnaround strategies and financial restructuring that helps even today.
4. What’s a mistake you see many young leaders making?
Sometimes, we tend to jump the gun to make a big impact. Decision making should be based on insight, learning and a solid vision. As a leader, if you ensure that people are in it together with you and they believe in the strategy and goals you have set, you’ll definitely find success.
5. What books, podcasts, or quotes changed your perspective on leadership?
Catch-22, by Joseph Heller; A classic that got me into habit of reading, and delightful way to learn about paradox.

7. What’s the next big disruption you foresee in the auto industry?
BMW Group is committed to expanding its electric vehicle (EV) lineup, aiming for a significant portion of its sales to come from electric models in the coming years. The company is investing heavily in battery technology and sustainable production methods. The company knows the importance of digital transformation, integrating advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence, connectivity, and advanced driving features. We are prioritising sustainability across operations, from sourcing materials to manufacturing processes. By 2050, the BMW Group intends to be climate-neutral along the entire value-added chain.
