Nike has introduced the Vegam Run, its first running shoe designed specifically for India, aimed at the country’s growing community of runners. Priced at ₹3,795, the shoe will be available from November 1 through Flipkart and select retail outlets, with wider distribution across Nike’s Indian retail partners planned for spring 2027.
The Vegam Run has been developed for everyday running and regular wear, with an emphasis on cushioning, breathability and durability. Nike says the shoe is designed to accommodate the demands of runners who want something that works both during their runs and throughout the rest of their day.

The design was shaped by inputs from runners across India, with Nike gathering insights into their training routines and everyday movement. The shoe features an engineered mesh upper for lightweight breathability, full-length foam cushioning for a responsive ride, and a textured rubber outsole. Additional rubber around the perimeter is intended to improve durability, while pull tabs make it easier to put on and take off.

The shoe will be offered in locally inspired colourways, including an After Dark Tour edition celebrating the brand’s Mumbai stop scheduled for December.

According to Nike, the Vegam Run also reflects a faster product development process. The company moved from the initial design brief to a confirmed product in 55 days, taking roughly five months to progress from concept to launch. The project brought together its product, marketplace and manufacturing teams around a focused brief.
“Our ambition with the Vegam Run was simple: honour the voice of the runner in India and build what they need,” said Deepa Ramprasad, Senior Director of Nike Road Running Footwear.
Nike says the shoe is intended to make running more accessible to a broader range of athletes, from beginners to experienced runners. The company plans to expand the Vegam Run into additional international markets in 2027.
