We haven’t cracked the code to make watches we’ve seen in the movies. However, we’ve reached the stage where we can have a watch that resonates with the future. After making an eye-gazing CMF Watch Pro in 2023, the Nothing-owned brand has returned with a new smartwatch, the CMF Watch Pro 2. We received the smartwatch for review, along with the CMF Phone 1 and CMF Buds Pro 2, all launched on the same day. Let’s check out if it is future-proof or not?

Here's an in-depth review of CMF Watch Pro 2

    CMF Watch Pro 2: Design

    cmf watch pro 2

The CMF Watch Pro 2 is mostly about design, and maybe that’s the USP of the brand, as they’re a design-centric brand. The CMF Watch Pro 2 has a circular design, unlike its predecessor, the CMF Watch Pro, which had a square dial. The watch is available in four colour options – Dark Grey/Ash Grey with a metal body and liquid silicon strap – weighing 48.1 gm, and Blue/Orange with a metal body and leather strap – weighing 44.4 gm.

The one we received for review was in a Dark Grey colour, and it looked classy when strapped to the wrist. The smartwatch arrives with interchangeable bezels with two main options – rounded and flat. The one we received was flat and looks like a crown of the watch or you can even call it a door of hobbit house. The lightweight watch is comfortable to wear and due to the softness it offers it can be suitable for both men and women.

The straps are easy to remove compared to rest of the smartwatches available in the market at this budget. On the right side we have functional crown with a metal finish that lets you wake up the watch, go back, open the menu, pause workouts, and also you can rotate it to scroll through the app menu. On the left side, there is a microphone and on the bottom, we have the heart rate and SpO2 sensors that have glowing green and red LED lights.

    CMF Watch Pro 2: Display

With a rounded dial, the shape has shrunk a little compared to the CMF Watch Pro, but having a 1.32-inch AMOLED display with a 466 x 466-pixel resolution that supports a 60Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 650 nits is not at all a bad specs for a budget smartwatch. Outdoor visibility is quite commendable and offers you a range from 1 to 5 to set the display tone. Also, the watch allows you to increase the screen time out till 20 seconds.

The CMF Watch Pro 2 also have a feature of auto brightness adjustment and it works quite well when you’re walking, cycling or spending a lot of time in the sun. However, when you’re indoors the auto brightness somehow goes way down, forcing you to turn it off. The watch also feature an always-on display but when turned on it consumes a lot of battery. The taps and scrolls works fine making the display smoother and responsive.

CMF Watch Pro 2: User Interface and Connectivity

The CMF Watch Pro 2 has a built-in calling feature. It shows you a call log, and there is even a dial pad in addition to contacts. You can add and manage up to 30 contacts on your watch to make calls directly from your wrist. The watch offers a good calling experience when you are indoors, while in terms of outdoors, it offers okayish output. The watch offers 4 to 5 days of battery life when the always-on display is on, and you track workouts throughout the day.

    Verdict

The CMF Watch Pro 2 is quite a good deal as it offers a unique design, interchangeable bezels, a smooth display, and 120 sports modes. The watch is comfortable to wear, looks good on a wrist and works smoothly. The CMF Watch Pro 2 can be paired with Android smartphones and iPhones, making it the most-wanted watch in a budget segment. The watch face designs could have been better but that’s not a thing to complain about when the price is ₹5499.
