HP OmniPad 12 Review
I have personally grown fond of the HP OmniPad 12. Its lightweight and compact design makes it an excellent companion for my daily commute, especially since I find carrying a laptop bulky and cumbersome. The ability to switch between a laptop and a tablet makes it suitable for both office work and casual usage. The detachable keyboard and slim form factor are its biggest strengths.

Design
The HP OmniPad 12 is one of those devices that makes you wonder whether you really need a laptop after all. Its slim and compact form factor, combined with a detachable keyboard, makes it an interesting alternative for anyone looking for a portable productivity device. What I particularly liked about the keyboard is the spacing between the keys. Despite its compact layout, it doesn’t feel like you’re missing out on a traditional keyboard. In fact, the spacing makes it easier for your fingers to reach even the distant keys. The keys rest comfortably under your fingers, making typing scripts and articles a pleasant experience. The detachable design also adds versatility, allowing you to switch between a tablet and a laptop-like setup depending on your needs.

Display
The OmniPad 12 features a 12-inch 2K multi-touch display with a refresh rate of up to 90Hz. The display is one of its biggest highlights, offering a great viewing experience for everyday entertainment. Whether you’re catching up on cricket matches or binge-watching your favourite TV shows, the screen delivers an enjoyable experience. The audio complements the display well, with sound that is loud, clear and good enough to make your entertainment sessions more immersive.

Performance
Under the hood, the HP OmniPad 12 is powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor, featuring two fewer cores, paired with 8GB RAM. Storage options include 128GB and 256GB. In my experience, the tablet handled everyday multitasking comfortably. Switching between documents, mails, clicking photos and binge-watching my favourite series was easy and seamless. Gaming was another pleasant surprise. The visuals and graphics looked good, and the tablet didn’t heat up while gaming. While it isn’t positioned as a high-performance creative workstation, it handles everyday productivity and entertainment with ease.
Battery
Battery life is always an important consideration for a device designed to replace your laptop, and the OmniPad 12 delivered an interesting experience during my testing. We tested the tablet by playing 4K content for one hour, and it consumed 8% of the battery. I used the tablet every night- for work, binge-watching and music. The tablet managed to last through three days of general usage and streaming before its battery drained completely.
