Blackview

Blackview BV9300 Pro  

The Blackview BV9100 Pro was showcased at IFA Berlin. It is a rugged smartphone designed for extreme conditions and is known for its durability. At Lenovo Innovation World 2024, during IFA Berlin, Lenovo introduced its latest innovations to the Yoga and IdeaPad series, showcasing their focus on AI-powered enhancements to boost productivity and creativity. The new lineup includes Copilot+ PCs, powered by Intel and AMD processors, designed to revolutionize how users create and interact with technology. Key highlights from the event include the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Aura Edition, a premium Intel Evo Edition laptop, developed in collaboration with Intel, offering advanced features like Smart Modes, Smart Share, and Smart Care. These features adapt to user needs in real-time, providing an intuitive and responsive experience tailored for both work and play.

Other noteworthy launches include the Lenovo Yoga Pro 7, and the IdeaPad Slim 5 and Slim 5x models, powered by AMD Ryzen and Snapdragon processors, respectively. These laptops made for a wide range of users, from creators to everyday consumers, with the promise of improved performance and AI-driven capabilities. The announcement also introduced Lenovo Creator Zone, a software suite enabling creators to ideate and generate AI-powered images locally.

The company also unveiled its Auto Twist AI PC concept, featuring a motorized hinge. This PC can track your movements and rotate its display to face you as you move around it. It can also change into different modes in response to voice commands. The Twist AI is a motorized version of the twistable form factor, which has been around for over 20 years. Unlike most 2-in-1 laptops that have 360-degree hinges allowing them to fold backward into tablet mode with the keyboard facing outward, the Twist AI takes a different approach with its motorized features.

LG

LG

LG Electronics unveiled its vision for future living, centered around AI-driven solutions that cater to diverse lifestyles under the themeExperience, Affectionate Intelligence (AI) Home.At the core of this vision is LG ThinQ ON, an advanced AI home hub that seamlessly integrates with LG’s latest AI appliances to deliver comfort and personalized convenience. ThinQ ON learns user preferences over time, creating tailored experiences that enhance everyday life, from managing home appliances to assisting with tasks like booking a taxi or setting travel times.

The showcase features a variety of AI-powered zones, including the Second Youth Home, designed to simplify home management for seniors, and the Affectionate Home, which provides AI solutions for families, children, and pets. LG’s Self-Driving AI Home Hub can even adjust settings to help children sleep or use generative AI to create stories. For pet owners, innovations like the LG AeroCat, a combination air purifier and cat bed, ensure a pleasant environment.

LG also highlights its Smart Green Home with high-efficiency appliances like the Therma V R290 Monobloc heat pump, optimizing energy usage.

Qualcomm

The Snapdragon X Elite and X Plus 10-core chips launched by Qualcomm in June were primarily targeted at premium laptops. However, with the introduction of the Copilot+ capabilities and the energy efficiency of Arm, Qualcomm aims to bring these features to a wider user base, and they are making good on that with the Snapdragon X 8-core version.

Qualcomm has unveiled new chip against the Intel Core Ultra 7 155U, showcasing that the Snapdragon X Plus 8-core offers 61% better performance while consuming 179% less power compared to Intel’s processor. This positions the Snapdragon X Plus 8-core as a high-end component, despite being available in PCs at a lower price point than laptops featuring an Intel Core Ultra 7.

Belkin

Belkin introduced a wide range of new charging accessories tailored for travel, along with several new additions to its expanding audio lineup. One standout product is the Apple 3-in-1 charger that, while not designed for travel, now has a foldable version for easy storage in your bag. Belkin also unveiled rapid power banks with built-in cables and some new USB-C cables made with a high percentage of GRS-certified postconsumer recycled thermoplastic.

On the audio front, Belkin showcased the affordable SoundForm Rhythm headset designed for remote work, which comes with a mic that automatically mutes when folded up. Additionally, there are new wireless headphones, a high-end model with ANC, and an updated version of its earbuds for kids. For those who experience discomfort with wireless earbuds, Belkin has introduced the SoundForm Clearfit Open-Ear Wireless Earbuds, designed to hook over your ears and rest on top of your ear canal, providing a comfortable fit and decent sound quality.

TCL

TCL at IFA showcased new 50 Pro NXTPAPER 5G that features a unique physical switch for toggling between Normal, Color Paper, and Max Ink modes, with Max Ink mode offering extended battery life of up to a week. Its non-pro version is very similar. Both phones has a 6.8-inch Nxtpaper display with a 120-Hz refresh rate, a 5,010-mAh battery with up to 33W charging, and a triple rear camera (108-MP main, 8-MP ultrawide, 2-MP macro). The Pro version also includes a 32-MP front-facing camera and 512 GB of storage, while the regular version has an 8-MP selfie cam and 256 GB of storage.

HMD

HMD has recently introduced the HMD Fusion, a modular Android smartphone that revives the concept of customizable phones. Embracing the modular trend, the Fusion features smart pins at the base of the phone, allowing users to attach variousoutfitswirelessly, including a gaming controller, wireless charging support, a rugged outfit with IP68 water resistance, and a flash for well-lit selfies.

In addition to user-created outfits like a projector and a solar panel, HMD has also showcased its own accessories. The Fusion boasts a 108-megapixel primary camera, a Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset, and a 5,000-mAh battery. It offers two Android OS upgrades, three years of security updates, and user-repairable components with parts available for purchase for up to seven years. Notably, opening the phone won’t void the warranty.
