Lava has added a new phone to its Bold series. Priced at ₹7,999 for the launch period, the phone will go on sale on Amazon starting September 3 at 12 PM.
The Bold N4 Lite is Lava’s newest entry into the budget segment. So don’t expect flagship specs here. Instead, Lava has focused on the basics: a big screen, a big battery, and clean software.
The phone comes with a 6.56-inch display. Large enough for everyday use like scrolling social media, watching videos, or browsing the web. Buyers get two colour options: Empire Gold and Ghost Silver.
Lava has powered the Bold N4 Lite with a UNISOC 9863A chipset. This isn’t built for heavy gaming or multitasking, but it should handle calls, messaging, and basic apps without much trouble. The phone ships with 3GB of RAM, users can also add up to 3GB of virtual RAM, which borrows storage space to act as extra memory. Storage starts at 32GB, and it’s expandable up to 64GB.

With a 5000mAh battery, most users would get a full day of use. However, charging is slow by today’s standards, as Lava bundles only a 10W charger in the box. For the camera, the Bold N4 Lite gets an 8MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera. Neither is going to impress in low light, but they should cover basic photos and video calls.
The phone runs Android 16 Go, the lighter version of Android built for entry-level hardware. Lava says it comes free of bloatware. That’s a plus at this price point, since many budget phones ship with unwanted pre-installed apps. Lava will also provide 2 years of security updates.
The Bold N4 Lite’s official price is ₹8,099, but Lava is offering a “special launch price” of ₹7,999.
The Bold N4 Lite doesn’t try to be more than what it is: a basic, functional smartphone for first-time buyers or those upgrading from a feature phone. The battery life and clean software are the highlights. The camera and charging speed, on the other hand, are clear compromises. At under ₹8,000, though, most buyers shouldn’t expect much more.
