Nikon has launched the Z5IIC in India. This full-frame mirrorless camera targets first-time users and those upgrading from APS-C bodies. It’s also Nikon’s first full-frame mirrorless camera with scene modes on the mode dial.
The Z5IIC offers the same performance as the Z5II, which launched in April 2025. However, it makes automatic shooting simpler for newcomers. The mode dial offers 15 scene modes, covering portraits, pets, food, night landscapes, and twilight shots. Once you pick a scene, the camera automatically adjusts more than six settings, including white balance and Picture Control. A dedicated button also unlocks Imaging Recipes, presets created by Nikon and creators. You can register your favourite recipes directly on the camera.
The Z5IIC uses AI-based deep learning to detect subjects. It now recognises 10 subject types, and Nikon has added fish detection for the first time. In Auto mode, the camera reads the subject and scene, then sets aperture, shutter speed, ISO, and autofocus automatically. Focus still works down to -10 EV.
The camera also gets 5-axis in-body stabilisation. Nikon rates this at up to 7.5 stops at the centre and 6 stops at the edges, under CIPA 2024 standards. It also has a solid build quality, with magnesium alloy in key areas and dust- and drip-resistance. For video, the Z5IIC supports 4K video at 60fps and can record 12-bit RAW internally.
Compared to the standard Z5II, the Z5IIC drops the electronic viewfinder to cut costs. It sticks with a single UHS-II SD card slot and a 1.04-million-dot vari-angle touchscreen. The burst speed still stays strong: up to 14fps with the mechanical shutter, and up to 30fps in electronic mode, though that’s JPEG only.
The Z5IIC will be available at Nikon outlets across India from mid-October. It’s priced at Rs. 1,39,995 for the body only, and buyers can choose between black and silver colours. Nikon currently sells the Z5II at Rs. 1,54,495. That makes the Z5IIC about Rs. 14,500 cheaper.
