Nothing has just unveiled its inaugural CMF smartphone in India, the CMF Phone 1, at an enticing price of ₹15,999. This budget-friendly marvel echoes the unique design that Nothing’s phones are known for, blending aesthetic appeal with robust specifications. The CMF Phone 1 stands out with its distinctive removable back cover design and is powered by the mid-range MediaTek Dimensity 7300 chipset.

Specs and Features of the CMF Phone 1

The CMF Phone 1 boasts a 6.7-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, delivering a vibrant visual experience with up to 700 nits of typical brightness and an impressive peak brightness of 2000 nits. The display features a punch-hole design, keeping in line with modern smartphone trends.

One of the standout features of the CMF Phone 1 is its removable back cover, designed for those who crave a fresh look without purchasing a new device or using different cases. Each back cover comes with a screwdriver for easy removal, allowing users to swap covers effortlessly. A unique wheel on the back panel adds to the phone’s charm.

Though it doesn’t spin for fidgeting, it serves a functional purpose – attaching a lanyard, a stand, or a cardholder, all sold separately by Nothing. This innovative concept is refreshing, especially in the budget segment, where such creativity is rare. The phone’s body is made of plastic, with back panels available in both matte and leather finishes.

    Camera Capabilities

Photography enthusiasts will appreciate the 50-megapixel dual rear camera setup, perfect for capturing stunning photos. The front-facing 16-megapixel camera is ideal for selfies and video calls, ensuring clear and crisp images. With its compelling price, unique features, and robust performance, the CMF Phone 1 is set to make waves in the Indian market.

    Under the Hood

Powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 chipset, the CMF Phone 1 ensures smooth performance. Nothing promises two years of Android OS upgrades and three years of security patches, with the device currently running on Android 14, making it eligible for Android 16 in the future. For secure and convenient access, the phone features an in-display fingerprint sensor, a step up from the more common side-mounted sensors. The CMF Phone 1 houses a 5,000mAh battery with 33W fast charging support. However, buyers should note that the charger is not included in the box and needs to be purchased separately.

CMF Phone 1 – Pricing and Availability in India

The CMF Phone 1 is attractively priced at ₹15,999 for the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage variant, while the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage model comes in at ₹17,999. Available exclusively on Flipkart, the device can be snagged at a special launch price of ₹14,999 with select bank cards, but hurry, this offer won’t last long.

Nothing is also launching a range of accessories sold separately. These include a lanyard, a stand, and a cardholder, each priced at ₹799. The colourful-removable back covers, available in blue, black, orange, and light green, are priced at ₹1,499. Additionally, buyers of the CMF Phone 1 can purchase the phone charger at a discounted rate of ₹799.
