Amazon has expanded its smart display lineup in India with the launch of the Echo Show 11 and the fourth-generation Echo Show 8, bringing larger screens, improved audio, and more advanced sensor-based automation to its Alexa ecosystem. The new devices are designed to function as central hubs for daily tasks, entertainment, and smart home control.
Both smart displays are powered by Amazon’s AZ3 Pro custom silicon and feature the company’s Omnisense sensor platform, which uses a combination of motion, presence, temperature, ultrasound, Wi-Fi sensing, and camera-based inputs to enable more contextual smart home routines. These sensors allow the devices to trigger actions such as switching on lights when someone enters a room or adjusting cooling devices based on ambient temperature, reducing the need for manual commands.

In terms of hardware, the Echo Show 11 features an 11-inch Full HD display, while the Echo Show 8 offers an 8.7-inch HD panel. Both use edge-to-edge glass with slim bezels and fabric-backed enclosures aimed at blending into home interiors. Amazon has also introduced ambient visual modes that adjust screen brightness and content based on room lighting conditions, making the displays less intrusive when not actively in use.
Audio has received a notable upgrade as well, with both models featuring front-firing stereo speakers and a dedicated woofer designed to deliver room-filling sound with spatial audio effects. This makes the devices suitable not only for voice interactions but also for streaming music, podcasts, and audiobooks from platforms such as Amazon Music, Spotify, Apple Music, JioSaavn, and Audible.
For communication, both Echo Show models are equipped with 13-megapixel cameras with auto-framing and noise reduction, enabling clearer video calls through other Echo devices or the Alexa app. The screens also support video streaming from services like Prime Video and Netflix, along with web-based access to YouTube via Amazon’s Silk browser.
Smart home monitoring features include the ability to view multiple compatible security camera feeds on a single screen and use the Drop In function to check in on different rooms or family members remotely. Privacy controls remain a core part of the design, with physical microphone and camera shut-off buttons, as well as tools within the Alexa app to review and delete voice recordings.
Pricing in India starts at ₹26,999 for the Echo Show 11 and ₹23,999 for the Echo Show 8. Both devices are available in Graphite and Glacier White colour options through online and offline retail channels, and are expected to support Amazon’s upcoming Alexa+ generative AI features when they roll out in the country.
