At the end of July, OnePlus teased the launch of the OnePlus 16, the successor to the company’s current flagship, the OnePlus 15. The new design suggests the phone will have a reshaped rear camera module, with a circular finish replacing the current square design. Some key specifications and features have been revealed ahead of its official debut, including an unreleased Snapdragon chipset and a custom BOE display.

Tipster Digital Chat Station shared some key details on the Chinese microblogging platform Weibo. They claim the screen will be a custom BOE Oriental Screen 4.0 panel with a 165Hz refresh rate. The phone will also reportedly get Oppo’s next-gen “Bright Eyes Protection” technology, along with “ultra-narrow” bezels.
The OnePlus 16 will reportedly retain a triple rear camera unit, the same as the OnePlus 15, though with significant upgrades across the board. The primary camera is said to be a 200-megapixel sensor measuring 1/1.4 inches. The phone could also get a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera with a 1/1.95-inch Sony sensor, offering up to 3x optical zoom. Rounding out the setup is a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera. Finally, the phone will reportedly feature a 50-megapixel front camera with autofocus for video calls and selfies.
The OnePlus 16 was initially teased during the Snapdragon Gaming Technologies Awards 2026. It is expected to launch in India in November 2026, with an earlier release in China in October.
There is no official statement on the price yet, and estimates from sources vary from ₹70,000 for the base 8GB RAM version up to ₹89,999 for the highest version.

Also note that this launch comes after a major shift in OnePlus’s global strategy. In July, the company confirmed it would exit the North American and European markets. The OnePlus Community website in North America shut down on August 16, 2026, and the brand’s future devices will not launch in these regions.
OnePlus has, however, stated that its India operations will continue as usual, with more launches planned, including the OnePlus 16. That said, some reports have suggested parent company Oppo could eventually scale back OnePlus’s presence outside China altogether, possibly by 2027.
