Hot on the heels of its high-profile IPO, LG yesterday announced the launch of its new Essential Series, a range of home appliances designed specifically for Indian homes. The series marks the company’s first major consumer initiative following its public listing in India, signalling a renewed focus on making LG’s innovation more accessible to a wider audience in the country.
Introduced under the campaign slogan “Har Ghar Appliances, Har Ghar Happiness,” the Essential Series represents LG’s attempt to blend affordability with thoughtful design and durability, catering to India’s diverse climates, power conditions, and consumer habits.
The products were supposedly developed after LG’s research team engaged with more than 1,200 families across India, representing different regions, income levels, and lifestyles. The company says the series embodies two guiding principles, namely “Made in India” and “Made for India.”
The LG Essential Series marks a new chapter in our commitment to Indian consumers, following the successful market listing of LGEIL,” said Hong Ju Jeon, President of LG Electronics India Ltd. “Designed from the ground up with insights from thousands of households, this series brings together premium design and everyday reliability. It addresses real needs — enhancing convenience and enriching daily life — while making ‘Life’s Good’ more accessible across India.”
Tailored for Indian Conditions
The Essential Series includes four key appliances, each designed with locally relevant features:
Double Door Refrigerator:
The refrigerator introduces Frost Free Technology at a mid-range price point, eliminating manual defrosting. A Smart Mode adjusts cooling automatically based on ambient temperature, while the 20% larger vegetable compartment caters to bulk-buying families, particularly vegetarian households.
Fully Automatic Top Load Washing Machine:
Built for low water pressure and humid conditions, the washing machine features Low Pressure Fill technology and a ProShield Motor with a dust- and insect-resistant BMC cover. Its IPX4-certified water-resistant control panel ensures reliable performance in moisture-heavy environments.
Room Air Conditioner:
Targeted at cost-conscious buyers, the air conditioner includes Energy Manager+, allowing users to monitor and manage their electricity consumption through the “You Decide Your Bill” feature. The Diet Mode+ function optimises cooling and airflow for smaller spaces while improving energy efficiency.
Convertible Oven:
Drawing from India’s culinary traditions, the oven features Auto Cook menus for staples like paneer, dal, and ghee, alongside Air Fry and Convection modes for healthier, versatile cooking options.
Availability and Pricing
The LG Essential Series will begin its nationwide rollout in November 2025, with prices starting around ₹18,000 for entry-level models. The products will be available through LG brand stores, multi-brand retail outlets, and major e-commerce platforms.
