WhatsApp is bringing a major update to its Status feature, giving iOS users an experience similar to Instagram Stories. According to reports, the new WhatsApp beta for iOS introduces quick-share buttons, allowing users to instantly share their WhatsApp statuses on Facebook and Instagram. Previously, this convenience was limited to Android users, but with this update, iOS users can now enjoy seamless cross-platform posting under one Meta ecosystem.
Instagram-Style Status Interface
The revamped Status page is designed to feel familiar to users of Instagram Stories. One noticeable change is the view count, now relocated to the left side of the screen, creating a streamlined and visually consistent experience across Meta apps. The subtle interface tweaks make it easier for users to navigate and interact with their statuses, especially those who regularly switch between WhatsApp, Instagram, and Facebook.

Share WhatsApp Status Directly on Meta Platforms
The highlight of this update is the quick-share functionality. Users can now post their WhatsApp statuses directly to Instagram, Facebook, or both, without going through the traditional list of viewers. The new sharing icons appear directly below each status, making cross-posting intuitive and convenient.
To enable this feature, users may need to link their WhatsApp account to Meta’s Accounts Center, a centralized hub for managing connected experiences across Meta apps. Importantly, WhatsApp’s privacy and security model remains intact. Linking accounts is optional, and all messages and calls continue to be protected with end-to-end encryption.
Rollout and Availability
Currently, the redesigned Status interface and quick-share buttons are being tested with a small group of beta users on iOS. A broader rollout is expected in the near future, making it accessible to millions of users worldwide.
This update marks a significant step in Meta’s strategy to unify its messaging and social platforms, enhancing cross-platform sharing while maintaining user privacy and control.
