itel has launched a new budget smartphone in India called the City 100, priced at Rs 7,599. The phone brings together some notable hardware and software features, including a large battery, a suite of AI utilities, and an IP64 rating for dust and water resistance, all of which is wrapped in a 7.65mm slim body.
The City 100 is built around a 6.75-inch HD+ IPS display with a 90Hz refresh rate, 700 nits peak brightness, and 83.5% NTSC colour coverage. The phone is powered by the Unisoc T7250 octa-core chipset, paired with 128GB of onboard storage. It packs a 5,200 mAh battery, which itel claims is good enough for all-day use.
Despite being in the entry-level segment, the phone features a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, dual-band Wi-Fi, a single loudspeaker, and an IR blaster. It’s also been designed to withstand temperature extremes between -20°C and 70°C.

- Conversion of images into editable Word, PDF, or Excel files
- An AI writing assistant to generate, proofread, summarise, or rewrite text
- Auto-generation of scanned documents
- Tap-to-navigate functionality for addresses in emails
The City 100 sports a 13MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera, with built-in scene optimisation. The device carries an IP64 rating, making it dustproof and resistant to water splashes. According to the company, it’s tested to last for up to 60 months of usage.
itel is bundling a free magnetic speaker worth ₹2,999 with the City 100, along with a free screen replacement within the first 100 days of purchase.
The City 100 is available now in Fairy Purple, Navy Blue, and Pure Titanium colour options through offline retail stores across India.
