Water technology company Boon has launched the Boon Tap, a premium under-counter RO water purification system aimed at homeowners looking for cleaner kitchen aesthetics and smarter water management. Priced at ₹20,500, the new purifier combines commercial-grade filtration technology with AI-powered monitoring and app-based controls.
The launch marks Boon’s expansion from the commercial sector into the consumer market. The company claims its filtration systems are already used in more than 400 premium hotels across India, as well as global organisations including Google, McKinsey & Company and Boston Consulting Group.
At the core of the Boon Tap is an 8-stage UltraOsmosis filtration system capable of purifying water with Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) levels of up to 2,000 ppm. The purification process includes sediment filtration, activated carbon treatment, reverse osmosis, UV sterilisation, and an alkaline post-filter designed to restore beneficial minerals and improve taste. The unit delivers 20 litres of purified water per hour and includes an 8-litre storage tank.

One of the key differentiators is the company’s WaterAI platform, a companion app that provides real-time insights into water quality, filter health, and system performance. Users receive proactive maintenance alerts and service reminders, helping ensure the purifier continues operating efficiently.
The system also offers three dispensing modes tailored to different needs. Daily mode focuses on balanced hydration, Active mode is designed for fitness-oriented users, while Brew mode optimises water composition for tea and coffee preparation. Additional care settings include Auto, Baby Safe, and Away modes.
Designed for modern kitchens, the Boon Tap keeps the purification system hidden beneath the counter, leaving only a stainless-steel gunmetal grey faucet visible. The minimalist approach helps reduce countertop clutter while maintaining easy access to purified water.
With smart monitoring, customisable water profiles, and a clean installation design, Boon is positioning the Tap as a premium alternative to traditional home water purifiers.
