Kabuni Launches AI-Powered Cricket Coaching Platform in India, Signs Ganguly, de Villiers and Watson

Kabuni, a new AI-powered sports technology platform, has officially launched in India, with an aim of making elite-level cricket coaching more accessible to players across the country. The platform was unveiled at its Playtime 2026 event in Mumbai, where it also announced a lineup of cricketing legends including Sourav Ganguly, AB de Villiers, Shane Watson and Shreyas Iyer as its inaugural “Super Coaches.”

The platform combines artificial intelligence with real-time performance analysis to provide personalised coaching feedback to players of all skill levels. Using its proprietary Kabuni PlayOS technology, the platform is claimed to analyse key aspects of a player’s technique such as timing, balance, footwork, alignment and sequencing, delivering instant recommendations designed to improve performance.

According to the company, the system has been trained using performance data from some of the world’s leading cricketers, allowing aspiring players to access coaching insights typically available only through professional academies and elite training environments.

Founded by Nimesh Patel, Kabuni was created with the goal of encouraging greater participation in sports while addressing concerns around excessive screen time among young people. The platform seeks to replace passive digital consumption with active, skill-based engagement, while also supporting parents, teachers and coaches in promoting healthier lifestyles.

India has been selected as Kabuni’s first launch market due to its vast cricket-playing community and strong grassroots participation. Following an initial rollout and testing phase in the country, the company plans to expand internationally later this year through partnerships with sports governing bodies and development programmes.

Alongside the platform launch, Kabuni has also introduced its nationwide campaign, “Do You Want to Play for a Legend?” The initiative will invite cricketers aged 12 to 16 to train using the platform, participate in trials and compete for places in teams led by the company’s Super Coaches before progressing to a national youth tournament.

Kabuni says the long-term goal is to make high-quality coaching more affordable, accessible and scalable for young athletes worldwide.
