Sennheiser has entered into a multi-year partnership with Formula E, becoming the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship’s Official Sound Provider. The collaboration will see the audio specialist integrate its professional audio solutions and AMBEO immersive audio technology across the global electric racing series.
The partnership is aimed at changing how Formula E’s races are experienced by audiences both at the track and at home. The two companies will explore advanced audio capture and encoding workflows designed to deliver more immersive sound across different viewing devices. A key focus will be capturing the distinctive soundscapes of Formula E’s GEN4 era, with the championship positioning the collaboration as part of its broader push into sports-tech innovation.

Sennheiser’s AMBEO ecosystem will play a central role in the technical partnership. The technology is designed to capture, process and reproduce natural, three-dimensional audio, with the companies looking to bring viewers closer to the action through dynamic in-car and trackside soundscapes.
The initiative will extend beyond television and digital broadcasts. Sennheiser’s audio solutions will also be used to enhance Formula E’s onsite fan zones and VIP hospitality areas, adding an immersive audio component to the championship’s live-event experience.
For Formula E, the partnership fits into its identity as the first all-electric FIA World Championship and a platform for testing new technologies. The series has increasingly positioned itself as a laboratory for electric mobility and sports innovation, with manufacturers including Porsche, Jaguar, Nissan, Stellantis, Mahindra and Lola Cars participating in the championship.
For Sennheiser, the collaboration provides an opportunity to apply its professional audio technology to the demands of high-speed electric motorsport and explore how sound can become a more integral part of the live racing experience.
