Nike has unveiled the Pegasus Plus 2, the latest addition to its long-running Pegasus franchise, positioning the new running shoe as a tempo trainer that brings race-day-inspired performance to everyday miles.
At the heart of the Pegasus Plus 2 is an exposed, curved Air Zoom unit in the forefoot, paired with Nike’s lightweight and responsive ZoomX foam midsole. According to Nike, the combination delivers a smooth, propulsive ride with at least 18 percent more energy return than the first-generation Pegasus Plus.
The shoe is designed for runners looking for a balance of speed, longevity and versatility, whether they are logging daily miles, working through long runs or increasing their pace. Nike says the curved Air Zoom unit helps transition each step into the next, while inner tensile fibres act like preloaded springs to return more of the energy generated by the runner.

The Pegasus Plus 2 also gets a more accommodating forefoot and toe box through Nike’s MR10 2.0 last, while a midfoot system is designed to keep the foot secure without compromising agility. Elevated ankle materials, reflective elements and a redesigned waffle outsole with flex zones complete the shoe’s construction.

Unlike a dedicated racing supershoe, the Pegasus Plus 2 delivers its fast, responsive character without using a plate. Nike says the shoe has been tested by more than 30 elite athletes across disciplines, with the company’s Sport Research Lab also evaluating runners’ movement and on-foot experience during development.
The Pegasus Plus 2 represents the latest evolution of Nike’s Pegasus line, which sits alongside the maximum-cushioning Vomero and supportive Structure in the brand’s road-running portfolio.
The Nike Pegasus Plus 2 will be available in India in late August at select retail partners and on Nike.com.
