Sandisk has launched two new internal SSDs in India: the Optimus GX PRO 8100 and the Optimus GX 7100. Both offer high-performance storage for gamers, creators, and professionals. The drives are built to handle demanding workloads, from gaming to AI applications to content creation.
The Optimus GX PRO 8100 is the beefier of the two drives. It uses a PCIe 5.0 interface, with sequential read speeds of up to 14,900MB/s and sequential write speeds of up to 14,000MB/s. Capacity goes up to 8TB, and the 8TB model carries an endurance rating of up to 4,800 TBW. Select variants come with an anodised aluminium heatsink to manage heat during sustained performance. This drive targets gamers, developers, and professionals working on AI PCs, workstations, and high-end desktops.

The Optimus GX 7100, on the other hand, runs on a PCIe 4.0 x4 interface. On the 1TB and 2TB models, sequential read speeds go up to 7,250MB/s and sequential write speeds go up to 6,900MB/s. Capacity ranges from 500GB to 4TB. The drive includes nCache 4.0 technology, which keeps gameplay responsive during intensive sessions. This model targets laptops and handhelds, where users want a balance of performance and efficiency for gaming and creative work.
Both SSDs are now available in India on Amazon. The Optimus GX PRO 8100 starts at INR 34,999 for the 1TB variant without a heatsink. The Optimus GX 7100 starts at INR 26,799 for the 1TB variant.
