Jio and Canva have announced a partnership to bring Canva’s design platform to Jio’s user base across India. Together, they want to make professional design tools accessible to students, creators, entrepreneurs, and small businesses across the country, and in Indian languages.
Eligible Jio users get free access to Canva Pro or Canva Pro Lite for up to 12 months. This benefit is worth up to ₹4,000, and Jio isn’t charging users anything extra for it. However, the tier depends on the recharge plan. Users on Jio’s ₹399 plan get Canva Pro. Meanwhile, users on the ₹349 plan, or any plan above ₹349 with 2GB of daily data, get Canva Pro Lite instead.
Claiming the offer is simple. Users just need to open the MyJio app, find the Canva offer, and tap to activate it. The offer goes live for users recharging with an eligible plan across all channels starting September 16.

Both plans include access to millions of premium templates, photos, videos, and fonts. Both also offer a one-tap background remover for photos and videos, along with print-ready CMYK exports and Magic Resize, which lets users adapt one design across multiple formats. Magic Eraser, a tool for removing unwanted details from images, is included in both tiers.
Meanwhile, Pro users get five brand kits, compared to three basic kits on Pro Lite. Pro also includes a content planner for scheduling social media posts. Canva AI, the platform’s conversational chat-to-design tool, is also exclusive to Pro, along with higher limits across Canva’s other AI tools. Storage also differs: Pro Lite users get 50GB of cloud storage, while Pro users get double that at 100GB.
Kiran Thomas, President of Reliance Industries Limited, said the partnership puts world-class, AI-powered design tools into the hands of millions of Indians for free, in the language they’re most comfortable with. Canva Co-Founder and COO Cliff Obrecht added that India is one of Canva’s fastest-growing markets, and that the Jio partnership marks a new chapter in the company’s India journey.
