Gone are the days when the month of February was celebrated as a month of love, as this year it’s undoubtedly going to be a month of smartphones as several top players from the smartphone industry are in the pipeline to launch their newbies in the market.

Earlier in the month, we witnessed a launch of the Samsung Galaxy S22 Series & Galaxy Tab S8 Series at the Galaxy Unpacked 2022 event, and today, another smartphone tycoon, OnePlus, launched their Nord CE 2 5G in India during a virtual event.

The company claims that the new TVs will bring a more “accessible connected ecosystem experience” across different screen sizes at an affordable price point.

It comes with Android 11 out of the box and sports a 6.43-inch full-HD+ AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 90Hz, HDR 10+ support, and Corning Gorilla Glass protection.

The handset comes with a 16-megapixel selfie camera on the front, which provides you with a prospect to shoot videos in 1080p@30fps. The 5G-ready smartphone boasts a MediaTek Dimensity 900 Octacore Chipset and 65W SuperVOOC fast Charging, which will fill the smartphone in mere 30 minutes.

The new Nord comes with two variants, 6GB/8GB of RAM, both in 128 GB of storage, a 3.5mm headphone jack and a micro SD slot that supports up to 1TB. The smartphone runs on Oxygen OS, and it will be available in two colours – Bahama Blue and Gray Mirror. The base variant of the smartphone is priced at ₹23,999, while the 8GB variant is priced at ₹24,999.

How Online Dating Revolutionized Romance in India?

We grew up watching sitcoms where the guy randomly approaches the girl at the bar or in a college, tries to impress her with swag, initiates a chat, followed by both gazing at each other and at the end of the scene, they either start dancing on a song or walkout from the bar only to start dating on the very next day. Well, hold your horses’ dude, in real life, you’ll not meet such people.

I’m taking this reference because, being from a typical Indian family, I know how much movies influence our lives. Attend any wedding or take a look at the fashion trends, and you’ll nod yes, it does. However, we’ve surpassed those days at some level as a considerable cut of the young generation is challenging the norms and preferring casual dates and relationships by going against the old school intentions.

India has about 400 million millennials, but currently, the dating apps are only reachable to 2.5% of the population. The rise in the education sector and financial independence amongst the youth play a vital role in the revolutionizing romance in our country. Also, in recent times lockdown has played a synonymous role in the growth of the dating market in India as many single people obtain dating virtually.

Back in the 2000s, parents were against casual dating, but nowadays, most parents think dating helps their children widen their choices, and it’s the best way to understand each other. The dating culture not only revolutionized the city crowd but also played a colossal role in forming bonds in tier-two and tier-three cities which shows young Indians are breaking conventional walls, at least to find love.

The Rise of Online Dating

When Gary Kremen and Peng T. Ong founded match.com in 1995, the internet was already booming, at least in first-world countries. Later on, within a short span, dating culture spread out in the rest of the world like a pandemic, and people started focusing on its benefits, especially singles looking for a match. However, dating culture is still considered taboo in many countries, including India. Though, the recent reports tell a different story.

Thanks to Millennials and Gen Z, India has about 31 million people on dating apps.

Nowadays, if you ask 10 people how they met their partner? At least 7 of them will answer online instead of through family or friends, which speaks volumes about the rise of online dating. It all happened in the last decade only, when dating sites were replaced by dating apps. At first, at least during the initial days of their service, they were trying to help singles get a partner/date, but as they understood the growth prospects of the field, it became a business of love.

Check out – Top 5 Dating Apps in India & their Speciality

What are the top 5 dating apps in India? (2022 Version)

Valentine week has begun, and the couples are already making plans to celebrate the special day, but what about those who are not in a relationship? Well, those guys can always try their best on dating apps, and this is the best time to install a few of the dating apps on your phone because somebody’s out there waiting for your text. You know, like that dialogue from The Green Book, “The world is full of lonely people afraid to make the first move”. So, be the change and make the first move with our list of top 5 dating apps.

Tinder

Every time someone thinks of online dating, Tinder is the first app that strikes their minds. The easy-to-use dating app from the house of Match Group is best for casual dating, hook-ups and whatnot. Tinder was the first one who introduced the swiping sensation that we do today on almost every single dating app, and it has one of the best algorithms in dating apps.

Bumble

Bumble is a women-centric dating app where men are not allowed to initiate a conversation with women, as the app only permits women to have the leverage to make the first move. The app has various options from which you can choose what you want to try, such as you want to go on a date, looking for a BFF or trying to work on your networking.

OkCupid

OkCupid is a better dating app than Tinder, especially if you’re looking for a long-term relationship. The question-based matching of OkCupid takes a lot of information from you to help you with precise matches, making the app one of the most liked. The popular dating app has lost its indie charm since Match Group acquired it, but it still has enough components to awe you.

Hinge

Hinge is another big name on the list of dating apps where starting a conversation is an easy task to do as it lets you like specific parts of someone’s profile instead of the whole thing. The follow-up system – after exchanging phone numbers, unique branding, in-depth profile, and integration with Facebook set the app apart from the rest of the dating apps.

Happn

Have you ever crossed paths with a cute-attractive person and imagined how it would look like walking with them hand-in-hand? Well, the french-born app Happn lets you do this as it shows you the people you cross paths with, but they must have to be on the app to make things work. Also, make sure you fill up all the necessary details to get matches with similar interests.

Top 5 Technological Advancements in the last 16 years

The world we live in now is completely different from then. Though it’s just a matter of 16 years, it brought many advancements in the world of technology. When Steve Jobs launched the first iPhone on 29th June 2007, he defined it as a ”revolutionary mobile phone” and ”breakthrough internet communications device” as it helped put the internet in everyone’s pocket. Besides iPhones, a lot more happened over the last 16 years, let’s take a brief look at it.

E-Commerce

Earlier, when the concept of e-commerce was introduced in India, people were a little hesitant towards it. Then, in December 2012, Google India partnered with e-commerce companies including Flipkart, HomeShop18, and Snapdeal to launch the Great Online Shopping Festival. The rest is history as nowadays 10 out of 7 people prefer online shopping over offline and the e-commerce market in India is expected to reach US$ 111 billion by 2024 and US$ 200 billion by 2026.

Smart Home Assistants

Gone are the days when people used to depend on alarms to wake up early in the morning. At first, alarms were replaced by phones and, in the last few years, everything has changed, mainly due to smart home assistants. The smart speakers such as Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant acts as virtual assistants and help us to update with the current traffic, weather, latest headlines, play your music and lots more.

Ride Apps

We all have dealt with ignorant cab and auto drivers at least once in our lives, and some of us who were tired of dealing with their pristine attitude developed ride apps. The launch of apps like Ola in 2010 and Uber in 2013 transformed the public transportation industry. The app-based service allows people to book a private or shared car using an app. The concept has set the stage for many other ride apps, such as Savaari and ZoomCar.

UPI Payments

Earlier in the 2000s, people used to stand in a queue to deposit and withdraw money from the bank. Though ATMs were already there yet people were not satisfied with payment options. In India, PhonePe became the first payment based app when it was launched in 2015, and soon, a number of other apps joined the lineup, such as GooglePay, and PayTM. The arrival of several apps helped people to transfer and receive the money within a few seconds.

Smart Wearables

The first Apple Watch turned 7 last September, and over the last few years, smart wearables have replaced the century-old wristwatches. There was a time when people were obsessed with buying expensive wristwatches, but in the modern world, people are more obsessed with their health/fitness, and the thing that keeps them updated with it is smart wearables. No doubt, the smart wearable market is valued at USD 40+ billion.

The government is planning to push for the use of biomass in coal-fired thermal power plants for environmental purposes, which might upset the biggest coal importers in the country.

Fabric

The import duties on fabrics like cotton and silk are going to rise by 10% and 5%, respectively. In contrast, nylon witnesses a reduction of 5% in customs duty.

The Longest Speech Ever

The Prime Minister said the Union Budget 2022 was more for poor and middle-class citizens of the country, but nobody’s from this section looks happy, especially after listening to the 160-minutes speech of the Finance Minister, which is considered the longest one in independent India.

16 Personality Types According to Myers–Briggs Type Indicator

Ever encounter yourself in a situation where you are unsure about your personality type and getting confused with types of verts such as introverts, extroverts, and ambiverts, which we often use to classify our personality. Honestly, these are only perspectives because everyone has an extroverted and introverted side. According to Myers–Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), there are 16 personality types, and the number exactly matches the years we’ve been in the business.

What is Myers–Briggs Type Indicator?

There are various methods and types to know about the personality type of the person, but MBTI is one of the widely accepted personality types in the world, which were created  in the 1960s by Isabel Briggs Myers and her mother, Katharine Briggs. Myers–Briggs Personality Types are based on Socionics theory which is based on terms such as extraversion (E), sensing (S), thinking (T), judgment (J), introversion (I), intuition (N), feeling (F), and perception (P).

Further, it divides people into 16 different types called sociotypes: ESTJ, ENTJ, ESFJ, ENFJ, ISTJ, ISFJ, INTJ, INFJ, ESTP, ESFP, ENTP, ENFP, ISTP, ISFP, INTP & INFP. These 16 personality types are divided into four categories, analysts, diplomats, sentinels, and explorers. Each of the four letters in a Myers–Briggs personality type code stands for a preference in your style of thinking, behaviour, and attitude towards life and people.

16 Personality Types According to Myers–Briggs Type Indicator

Analysts

  • INTJ

INTJs are introverts who are visionary and strategic thinkers. People with INTJ personalities are analytical, creative, logical, and referred to as the “Architect” or the “Mastermind.” They often feel comfortable being by themselves and love to pursue knowledge to solve problems, whether at work, or at home. They are brutally honest and don’t care what others think about their views. INTJs work their butts off, and it is the rarest personality type for women with only a 0.5% population worldwide. Elon Musk, Greta Thunberg and Mark Zuckerberg are the top-notch people with INTJs.

  • INTP

INTPs are often characterized as quiet and analytical who enjoy spending time alone, but people with this personality type are highly imaginative, creative and intelligent. People with INTP personalities are called “Thinkers” and “Logicians” as they always come with brilliant ideas and propositions. They have an inextinguishable thirst for knowledge and are experts in picking out something that’s out of place. Sometimes they’re absent-minded and often seem detached from their external world. Bill Gates, Meryl Streep, and Albert Einstein are famous people with INTPs.

  • ENTJ

ENTJs are hardworking commanders who like to focus on dealing with all things rationally and logically. People with this personality type prefer to gather information to construct their creative visions and are born leaders. These people are highly-energetic, even in stressful situations and can face criticism with ease. ENTJs are the second most rare Myers-Briggs personality type and one of the boldest one. Sam Maneckshaw, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Charlize Theron, Robert Downey Jr. and George Clooney are a few of the famous people with ENTJ personality types.

  • ENTP

ENTPs are intelligent and curious thinkers who do not enjoy small talk due to their extroverted nature. They are always open to exploring new ideas and are one of the rarest personalities you will ever encounter. ENTPs are always motivated and curious, constantly looking for opportunities to explore. These people love to come up with new ideas and possibilities but often fail during their implementation. When caught up in a stressed situation, ENTPs get manipulative and argumentative. Tom Hanks, Salma Hayek, Ryan Reynolds, and Martin Scorsese are a few of the great personalities with ENTPs.

Diplomats:

  • INFJ

INFJs are referred to as the “Advocate” or the “Idealist,” due to their quiet and mystical nature. INFJ is the rarest personality type in the world, and they tend to approach life with deep thoughtfulness and imagination. They are creative and reserved leaders but are often termed weird by others because of how they see life. INFJs are perfectionists who are extremely good at reading people, and they do things with an “all-or-nothing” attitude. Al Pacino, Nicole Kidman, Nelson Mandela, J.K. Rowling and Carl Jung (the man who developed the theory that MBTI is based on) are famous people with INFJs.

  • INFP

If you often spend time all by yourself in quiet places and love to analyze signs-symbols, and create stories around them, then you might not be aware of this, but you are born with the INFP personality type, which is a four-letter abbreviation of introversion, intuition, feeling, and perception. INFPs are imaginative idealists, creative, and visionary who like to take an advanced look at the big picture through their powerful imagination. Some of the notable personalities of INFPs are Sir David Attenborough, Heath Ledger, Bob Marley, and Rabindranath Tagore.

  • ENFJ

Some people are warm, lively, outgoing, charismatic and exemplary at encouraging others to grow but struggle to listen to their own needs and take things too personally. If the above details match your character, you fall into the ENFJ (Extraverted, Intuitive, Feeling, and Judging) personality type, with many VIPs including Barack Obama, Emma Stone, Oprah Winfrey, Johnny Depp and our very own Shah Rukh Khan. ENFJs are often referred to as “Teacher”, “Giver”, or “Protagonist ” due to their social skills and nature of encouraging other people.

  • ENFP

Johnny always strives to create his own working methods and doesn’t like to stay inside the typical box. He is abstract but energetic, passionate, and good at understanding other people’s feelings. Do you find Johnny’s persona similar to yours? If yes, you carry an ENFP personality along with you, which makes you a great leader and champion. ENFPs are born with a free soul and always find a reason to smile, but deep down, they’re very emotional and hate being told what to do. Chandra Shekhar Azad, Osho, Kanye West, and Jennifer Aniston are famous people with ENFP personality types.

Sentinels:

  • ISTJ

Whatever the situation arrives, some individuals never like to break the rules, be it crossing the red light in urgency or wearing traditional clothes on festive days, they’re always on point and serious. It looks like you’re connecting with the Inspector personality, and you’re one of those people who appear neat and orderly, inside and out. Yes, that is what we call ISTJ personality- practical and fact-minded people who are very loyal to their friends, colleagues, and family members. Now you know why Jeff Bezos is all about the details and very particular about his preferences!

  • ISFJ

Do you know why the reel life Superman Henry Cavill was good at defending his real-life girlfriend, Natalie Viscuso, from Instagram trolls? You might say he has protected the whole universe in a movie, and with that experience, he can easily defend his loved ones in real life. He has that gut in him, not because of his reel-life character but because of his personality type, ISFJ. Individuals with ISFJs are kindhearted, caring, constructive, ever-ready to give back to society, always very concerned about the happiness of their loved ones, and put forth their best to fulfill their duties.

  • ESTJ

One can predict the personality trait of ESTJ by spending time with them or observing their lifestyle and work. These guys are pretty organized, controlled, and always want to do the right thing acceptable in the broader arena of society. ESTJs are practical and have an inbuilt urge to organize people, look at the current Vice President of United States, Kamala Harris, never seen her disorganized or in disguise. ESTJs like to create order out of chaos, but sometimes they are incredibly judgmental, stubborn and display a tendency to be bossy.

  • ESFJ

ESFJs are natural cheerleaders, and it’s hard to find them lifeless as they’re energetic, outgoing and always on the move. ESFJs are born with a friendly nature and gain energy from interacting with others. If you look at the famous personalities with ESFJs, they’re all easily liked due to their Kind and sympathetic persona. Look at the current US president, Joe Biden, within one year, he has achieved an enormous fan base and already has two tweets in the list of top 30 most-liked tweets. The fun and outgoing personality type is the second most common type in the population.

Explorers:

  • ISTP

ISTPs are mysterious, rational, and have an individualistic mindset. The fiercely independent personality likes pursuing goals without needing much external connection. They’re often seen as rule-breakers, rebels, and they might appear shy at first, but when they’re around their close people, they’re more free-spirit types. Two of the best examples of ISTPs are British adventurer Bear Grylls and Hollywood actor Tom Cruise. Bear is exceptional in a crisis and likes to live in the moment, while the Mission Impossible star is physically agile and performs most of his stunts himself.

  • ISFP

The charming but low-key personality type is always ready to explore new things and very friendly. While approaching life, they tend to have open minds but are very sensitive and easily get hurt. ISFPs are referred to as composers and gentle caretakers who like to live in the moment. They’re encouraging, highly creative, optimistic, unpredictable and have a good eye for beauty, space, and function. A few of the top celebrities with ISFP personalities are Lata Mangeshkar, Mohd. Rafi, Pritam, Amrita Shergil, Ryan Gosling, Lady Gaga, The Weeknd, and Kendall Jenner.

  • ESTP

ESTPs are known for being intelligent, spontaneous and risk-taking. The entrepreneur personality is never afraid of making mistakes as they’re habitual with it and knows how to deal with one. These people prefer a straightforward approach towards life but still are fun to be around due to their confident, enthusiastic and spontaneous markers. ESTPs have dynamic energy, a bold sense of humor and are highly observant of their surroundings. Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, Donald Trump, Madonna, Angelina Jolie and Ben Affleck are the famous people with ESTPs.

  • ESFP

Some people like to be the center of attention and are often described as entertainers, class clowns or the life of the party, and in Myers–Briggs Type Indicator, they’re called ESFPs. The entertainer personality has strong interpersonal skills and loves to share what they’ve learned in their life. ESFPs are very much attached to their loved ones and prioritize them over anything. These guys hate being ignored more than anything in the world and get bored with repetitive tasks. Marilyn Monroe, Serena Williams, Elvis Presley, Justin Bieber and Will Smith are the top celebrities with ESFPs.
