Royal Enfield Takes the Odyssey Global with a 2,000km Moroccan Epic in 2026

Royal Enfield is taking its most iconic community ride format beyond the Himalayas for the first time, announcing the Moroccan Odyssey 2026, a 12-day, nearly 2,000-kilometre expedition that cuts across some of North Africa’s most dramatic landscapes, from the High Atlas mountains to the heart of the Sahara Desert.

Scheduled from March 27 to April 4, 2026, the ride is being positioned as the next chapter in Royal Enfield’s long-standing “Odyssey” legacy, a format that has historically represented more than just long-distance touring. The Himalayan Odyssey, in particular, has earned cult status over two decades as a rite of passage for serious motorcyclists, while global initiatives like One Ride and Moto Himalaya have strengthened the brand’s community-first approach to exploration. As Royal Enfield marks 125 years of its heritage, the Odyssey concept now makes a symbolic leap across the Mediterranean.

The Moroccan route begins in Marrakech, quickly climbing into the High Atlas via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass, one of the country’s most storied mountain roads. From there, riders descend into Ouarzazate, often called the gateway to the desert, before heading into the sweeping dunes of Erg Chebbi near Merzouga, where tarmac gives way to sand and open horizons.

The journey then turns north through the Middle Atlas, cutting across forests and plateaus, before arriving at Fes, one of Morocco’s oldest cultural centres. From there, the route winds through the Rif Mountains to Chefchaouen, the famed “Blue City,” before concluding in Rabat along the Atlantic coast.

Participants will ride the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450, which is designed to handle extreme variations in terrain and altitude. From high mountain passes to soft desert silt, the route is intended to test both rider and machine, reinforcing the Himalayan’s positioning as a purpose-built global adventure platform rather than a region-specific tourer.

More than a scenic ride, the Moroccan Odyssey is being framed as a physically demanding, community-driven expedition aimed at experienced riders seeking immersive travel and shared challenge. With nearly 1,820 kilometres of mixed terrain, shifting climates and cultural transitions, Royal Enfield’s latest Odyssey signals a clear intent: the spirit of exploration that once defined Himalayan journeys is now going truly global.

Registration for the Moroccan Odyssey 2026 is priced at ₹2.5 lakh per rider for single occupancy, and the fee includes the use of the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 for the entire duration of the expedition.
