A few days ago, the Exhibit team came out with certain essential concerns about drones. Drones which, if it is in your hand, make you feel empowered. Otherwise, you are vulnerable. In the previous article on drones, Exhibit also discussed those points that are creating an issue. And, to counter them, Exhibit laid out several methodologies to upgrade drone detection systems. But, this time, Exhibit will display how to neutralize such entities if such elements penetrate your territory. Keep an eye and understand what you need to do to destroy or take control of such weapons. 

RF Jammer

In the previous article, we have thoroughly discussed how to upgrade detection equipment with an RF analyzer. But the time has come for jammers. What happens in jamming? I hope you have heard of these instruments earlier. Remember when a political figure sitting at the zenith of administration and governance comes to your vicinity. You may complain about network signals getting lost. The same happens with drones. These jammers emit radio frequency signals at enormous energy. Due to this, the controller signals are unable to reach such UAVs. Once it has lost connectivity, it may go back to its original position or fall uncontrolled.

GPS Spoofers

Imagine you are going to a location using your GPS (through a mobile app). Suddenly, you feel like the distance that was reduced again increased. No, don’t worry, such things don’t happen. But, to counter UAVs if such situations arise, you may easily deter such defensive entities. How? Consider that if you detect a drone has trespassed your land and is trying to make a lethal move, you can send a signal that tells a drone that it has come to the wrong location and must move back. GPS Spoofers is a non-lethal method to resist lethal moves (Quotable quote, isn’t it?). Hence, through such systems, you can avoid drone attacks. 

HPM & HEL Devices 

In easy language, you can imagine that your GPS Spoofers or RF Jammers are like Windows OS. And, this OS platform wants to download updates. Once downloaded, it’s an upgraded element for sure with enhanced features. The HPM (High-Power Microwave) device also sends an electromagnetic pulse (similar to an RF signal). But, this pulse can destroy the electronic circuitry in these UAVs. It is because such vibrations create a high difference in voltage. This difference results in a high jump in current, and that destroys the circuitry. The same is true for HEL (High-Energy Laser) devices, but here you send a laser beam. However, HEL has the edge over all other drone-destroying instruments due to its long-range fire. HEL also helps to reduce collateral damage.

Countering Drones: Assessing Drone Monitoring Technologies

Drones are love for some. Many of you have watched the movie “Uri” for sure. You have seen the potential of drones there. The market of drones has simply witnessed a boom and will take a CAGR of 55% by the time 2025 arrives. This market will have a business of around 63 billion USD. However, I am not here to discuss the drones business. The Exhibit will catch a different perspective this time to showcase what massacre it has created. Drones are currently coming into the news due to the series of attacks they are making. Recently, you have observed such incidents in the UT of J&K. Some claimed that drones bring some disadvantage against which it is getting used. Let’s get an idea on this domain and how to deter them by building resilient solutions.

Why are drones powerful?

First of all, you need to know that drones are not stand-alone instruments. It gets controlled remotely. Hence, you can increase and decrease after assessing the situation. A pilot in an aircraft may not get that time to decide what to do next unless clear instructions are not available due to the aircraft’s speed, which is in the multiple of Machs. Apart from this, a drone has better manoeuvering management than fighter aircraft and helicopters due to its small size. Remember, the maneuvering was done by the Uri movie team. They showed that Pakistan knew about some helicopters towards their side, and radar detection could have hampered the Indian contingent. But, that’s not the case with drones. Why? It is because drones have a small size and can easily pass the cross-sections of radars. The slow-motion profiles of these drones cannot generate a huge signal that can create an alert. 

Drone Monitoring Technologies

DMTs are necessary in modern times considering the capability and deployment approach of our neighboring countries. So, what functionality should be there in DMTs? Well, you don’t need to create a separate platform for detection equipment. What to do then? Pretty easy. All you need is to enhance the working of radars. It means that you bring more niche in the framework of radars. And, one of the biggest niches will be the identification of objects. Now, drones being slow empowers them to go undetectable. But, if radar can identify each object and segregate them under birds and other unmanned aerial vehicles, it will be a great accomplishment. Apart from this, one can work tapping the communication signal between the UAV and controller. Hence, for this, one can use a radio frequency analyzer. But RF won’t be effective if someone is using autonomous UAVs against you.

Other Tactical Elements 

RF and enhancing radar functionality is not the end of the world. Let’s empower you in this domain by allowing you to widen your horizon. Think about a drone. Does it make some sound? Yes, it makes it whenever it is moving. Hence, it must be generating some acoustic signals. Now, what if you detect such sound alerts and accordingly enhance your vigilance capability. Isn’t that great? Using acoustic sensors and some additional facilities you can identify the direction and movement of these UAVs. In addition to this, you also know that if any UAV enters your territory and you watch it, you are doing it with your eyes. So, what to do then? Well, here, some computer vision libraries attached to optical sensors can help you detect such events in a better way. It will also generate shreds of evidence that you can present to your enemy.

Will the regulation delay of cryptocurrency in India benefit the crypto industry?

The virtual currency measure was supposed to be introduced in parliament lately, but that did not happen. The government’s decision not to table the Cryptocurrency Bill in the Parliament’s Monsoon Session came as a disappointment to many who had hoped for speedy and efficient regulation of a booming asset class. But there may be more to it than meets the eye. Let us understand that why regulation may be delayed, how it can help, and what the crypto industry’s next steps are.

Since the administration is not in a hurry to pass legislation, and this bill will be debated with Shekharan and Ashwini Vaishnaw, who are both technologists and will provide a great deal of technical expertise to this law. It’s a wonderful thing that consideration is taking place. In India, outright prohibition never works. We’ve seen what happens when gambling and liquor are prohibited. It merely breeds more crooks and fuels the underground economy. It’s critical to have the correct conversations with the right people. Regulation is favorable rather than prohibition. The bill will be delivered. It may not happen during the monsoon session, but it will be a tough bill to outlaw cryptocurrency. If there had been any reconsideration, they would have sent it back to a parliamentary committee, which is probably not bound to happen soon.

India is not a country where regulations are created and then changed every few weeks. When new regulations are introduced in India, we must live with them for decades. Whatever is going on with the regulators right now is exactly what is hoped for, as they continue to take a wait-and-see approach. Creating regulations with loopholes will be disastrous in India.

Despite the Supreme Court’s order in March, the RBI remains in favor of the ban; the government is more liberal because it does not see a ban. They recognize that this will grow into a significant asset class with a large number of investors. As a result, it is preferable to regulate it rather than prohibit it. As a result, while a ban is unlikely, it will be strictly enforced.

Challenges of the bear market

Vivo Promises to Provide 3-Years of Android OS Update in X-Series phones

Who doesn’t like to have time to time updates for their smartphones? With every software update, your phone gets better. Last year Samsung announced that it would provide three generations of Android OS updates to its devices and hand over a list of about 40 devices that are eligible under its three-year updates’ pledge. Later, in the past month, HMD Global promised to offer two years of Android OS updates and three years of security updates to its Nokia X phones. The client inclined decision by Samsung and HMD Global gathered attention, which helped them gain more buyers.

With that aim and target, Vivo recently announced in a press statement its plan to offer three years of major Android OS updates for the future X series smartphones, an excellent move by Vivo to attract buyers. The update cycle includes three major Android updates and minor security upgrades for select Vivo X smartphones launched after July 2021. The company said in a press statement, the update thread will comprise the European, Australian, and Indian markets.

“Featuring top-of-the-line hardware, the X series flagship phones are built to last and we want to make sure that our customers get software support that lives up to their expectations. We always innovate with the user in mind. With this pledge, we are making a promise to our customers that they will be able to enjoy a premium smartphone experience for an extended period and continue to benefit from the latest software features” Yujian Shi, Senior Vice President and CTO of Vivo, said in a press meet when asked about the latest move by the company.

However, Vivo hasn’t disclosed the complete list of eligible models for the extended software updates, but the non-eligible ones will continue to receive regular Android security updates as planned. Three years of OS updates is a major improvement over the previously designed standard updates of two years. All the top smartphone manufacturers could extend it as much as four years in the future to stay up in the market and enhance the competition.

The announcement will undoubtedly create pressure on Oppo and OnePlus to follow Vivo’s example as all three of these smartphone manufacturers yield massive competition to each other. Currently, the OnePlus policy offers two years of Android version upgrades and three years of security updates, while Oppo provides two years of security updates and two generations of Android OS updates.

Furthermore, Vivo is yet to reveal details about its new X series phones. Although, the rumours suggested that the Vivo X70 Pro+ could be one of the forthcoming models. The smartphone is rumoured to have a 1/1.28-inch sensor supported by Zeiss optics and include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC, the successor to the Snapdragon 865-series chipset.

National Technology Day: How Technology Is Helping Us Fight COVID-19

First observed on May 11, 1999, National Technology Day is celebrated every year on May 11 to highlight the achievements of engineers and scientists in the field of technology and science.

The Tests:

On May 11, 1998, India successfully launched three missiles under the name Operation Shakti led by late President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam at the Indian Army’s Pokhran Test Range in Rajasthan. Following the success of these three tests, two more nuclear tests were conducted on May 13, 1998. The Indian Army carried out the mission in collaboration with scientists from the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC), Atomic Minerals Directorate for Exploration and Research (AMDER).

Apart from this, India also tested its first domestic aircraft, Hansa-3 and Trishul missile, on May 11, 1998, and added another achievement to the Defence Research and Development Organisation cap.

Thus, back in 1999, India’s then-Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee declared May 11 as a day of significant achievement for the country. The day enhances a reminder of India breaching into the elite group of nations with nuclear weapons. Since 1999, the Technology Development Board (TDB) admires the day by honouring scientists-engineers and their technological innovations that have added to India’s growth on this day.

The Theme:

Every year the country celebrates the day with a different theme under the observation of the Technology Development Board (TDB); this year, the National Technology Day 2021 theme is Science and Technology for a Sustainable Future. On the National Technology Day event, Prime Minister Narendra Modi saluted and remembered the hard work and tenacity of our scientists-engineers over a series of tweets, where he also mentioned how their innovations helped our country survive better during the fight against covid-19.

Role of Technology During Covid-19 Crisis:

When a pandemic hit India, everyone looked desperately and searched online for a vaccine or at least a medical solution to fight against it. During those times, telecom operators like Jio, Airtel, and more came forward and helped-provided guidance through the caller tunes to spread awareness about the pandemic.

The Government of India launched apps like Aarogya Setu and Umang to help people diagnose themselves at home with the help of a few questions; these apps also empowered people to locate red alerted places, covid camps, vaccine centres and helped in quickly identifying infected individuals, connect with them, track who they have come in contact with, and so on. Such technological innovations helped the country in the overcoming journey.

Furthermore, the wireless thermometer guns and other similar infrared body temperature measuring devices used at checkpoints of offices, airports, hotels, hospitals, railway stations, malls, and other public places helped us recognise measuring the body temperature from a distance and turn out to be helpful during the pandemic. Along with these devices, Artificial Intelligence (AI) played a significant role in suggesting components of a vaccine by understanding viral protein structures and helping medical researchers. 

When we were out of choice and Work From Home was the only option, during that time, technology was the only thing that helped us to secure business continuity as well as aids social distancing. Misinformation always leads to added crisis, and in a highly populated country like India, it spreads fast. Misleading information about the number of fatalities, diagnosis, treatment options, vaccines, medicines and government policies generates more panic and anxiety. 

All these things result in general chaos, panic buying, price rise, and violence on the streets. In order to control and avoid such misinformation, companies like Google, Facebook, and YouTube are working tirelessly. They’re working and helping people with the correct information published by WHO or local authorities and government.

Nubia Red Magic 5S Pre-Orders Begin Globally

Nubia Red Magic 5S global availability has been announced, and pre-orders have begun in several countries outside of China. The base model of the smartphone is priced at EUR 579

Launched in July, the Nubia Red Magic 5S sports a 6.65-inch full-HD+ AMOLED display with 2k resolution, 19.5:9 aspect ratio, 144Hz refresh rate, and 240Hz touch response rate.

The gaming smartphone features top-of-the-line specifications and comes with an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC that has a maximum clock speed of 2.84GHz. The Nubia Red Magic 5S has a USB Type-C, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and an in-display fingerprint sensor. Customers can also pair the phone with a number of accessories listed on the website. One of them is Ice Dock, which is essentially the company’s proprietary ICE 4.0 system that uses a combination of both thermal and air cooling to reduce heat generation.

Vivo Y20, Y20i launched in India

Vivo has launched two new smartphones in India. Launched under the Y series, the new phones are called the Vivo Y20 and the Y20i.vThe Vivo Y20 has been announced to be available for purchase at retail stores, Vivo India e-store, and other major e-commerce websites starting August 28, 2020. The company has announced that the device will be priced at Rs 12,990 for the single 4GB+64GB variant.

The Y20i will be available for purchase starting September 3, 2020. The phone has been announced to be made available at Rs 11,490 across retail stores, Vivo India E-store, and other major e-commerce websites. Both the Y20 and Y20i are powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 460 Mobile Platform processors. The Vivo Y20 and Y20i come with a 6.51-inch Halo iView display with an elongated aspect ratio of 20:9 and HD+ (1600 x 720) resolution. The two devices also bring with them side-mounted fingerprint scanners which are claimed to unlock the phone in just 0.22s. Both the phones pack a massive 5,000mAh battery with 18W FlashCharge technology that is claimed to last up to 16 hours of online HD movie streaming and 11 hours of resource-intensive games.

Realme 7, 7 Pro India launch set for September 3

Realme will launch the Realme 7 and Realme 7 Pro, while a third toned-down version Realme 7i could enter much later in the series. The highlighted feature is going to be the 65W fast charging tech on the Realme 7 series. It could be the first smartphone series that brings the high-rated charging speed for about Rs 20,000.

There will be an in-display fingerprint sensor on the Realme 7-series, Realme has been teasing the word “faster” for the Realme 7 series ever since it began building hype around it. It may refer to a new Snapdragon or Helio processor that does not have 5G connectivity since a rumor suggested previously there will be no 5G support on the Realme 7 series. The rest of the specifications of the Realme 7 series are not out yet and we will have to wait for the company teasers, and finally, the event to know more about the Realme 7 and Realme 7 Pro.

Fitbit launches Sense, Versa 3 and Inspire 2 in India

Fitbit on Tuesday announced its latest lineup of wearables in India. The company announced Fitbit Sense, Versa 3, and Inspire 2. The Fitbit Sense is touted as the company’s most advanced heart smartwatch with sensors including an on-wrist skin temperature sensor, advanced heart rate tracking technology, and more. Fitbit Sense was launched in India for Rs 34,999 while the Fitbit Versa 3 is priced at Rs 26,499. The Inspire 2 is slightly on the cheaper side as it costs Rs 10,999.

Sony Bravia X9000H series 4K LED TVs have been launched in India.

Sony Bravia X9000H series 4K LED TVs have been launched in India. The new series features full-array LED backlighting, HDR, Android TV operating system, support for Apple AirPlay2, and HomeKit. It will also have the ability to run upcoming PlayStation 5 games at up to 4K resolution with a 120fps frame rate. Sony Bravia X9000H series will be available in two sizes in India. The 55-inch model  is priced at Rs. 1,09,990, while the 65-inch model  is priced at Rs. 1,59,990. The new series will be available across all major Sony retail stores and e-commerce websites.

Xiaomi Mi TV Horizon Edition to Launch in India on September 7

Xiaomi has announced that it will be launching the Mi TV Horizon Edition in India on September 7. It’s likely to be the company’s most premium offering in the television segment yet. A teaser page by Xiaomi has revealed some features, including familiar ones such as the company’s Patchwall launcher and the fact that the television will likely run Android TV at its base. The ‘Horizon Edition’ branding borrows from Xiaomi’s recently launched Mi Notebook 14 Horizon Edition, which features a high screen-to-body ratio with thin bezels. The Mi TV Horizon Edition could feature a similar design.

Asus Zenfone 7 Pro, Zenfone 7 bring flip cameras back, have 90Hz displays

Asus Zenfone 7 series is finally official and brings back the interesting flip cameras on them. Asus is launching the  Zenfone 7 and the Zenfone 7 Pro, with only a few differences between them. There is top-end hardware on both smartphones, but what has been significantly improved are the cameras. The Zenfone 7 and Zenfone 7 Pro have three cameras now.

Google and Netflix make it clear they are not buying TikTok

With not much time on its hands to sell its operations in the US, TikTok is making every attempt to save its ship from sinking. TikTok recently approached Netflix to acquire its US arm. However, the streaming giant did not show interest in a deal with TikTok. Also, Google (CEO) Sundar Pichai has said that the company has no plans to acquire TikTok. As of now, Microsoft and Oracle have been the front runners who have shown interest in buying TikTok.

Mi 10T Pro Live Images Allegedly Leaked, Tipped to Come With 108-Megapixel Camera

Mi 10T Pro live images have been allegedly leaked and the phone is said to be part of Xiaomi’s new Mi 10T series. The Mi 10 series includes the Mi 10, Mi 10 Pro, Mi 10 Lite, Mi 10 Lite Zoom, and the Mi 10 Ultra. The images on the OfferUp website show a Mi smartphone with a single hole-punch cutout on the top left, thin bezels all around, and a grey back panel. This phone is said to be the Mi 10T Pro. The camera module can also be seen on the back, with the 108-megapixel camera branding.

Redmi 9 with MediaTek Helio G35 SoC, MIUI 12 launched in India

It hasn’t been too long since the launch of the Redmi 9 Prime in India, and now the company has launched a new smartphone, the Redmi 9 in the country. The Redmi 9 comes with a 6.53-inch-display which can churn up to HD+ resolution. However, what’s under the hood is more interesting. For hardware, the device gets at least 4GB of RAM and up to 128GB of storage paired to a powerful budget segment chipset, the Helio G35 SoC.

The phone is available in two variants, with the 4GB+64GB variant available at a starting price of Rs 8,999 while the 4GB+128GB variant will be available at Rs 9,999.

Apple will launch its first online store in India in September, physical stores are slated for 2021

Apple will launch its first online store in India in September, the online store will be ready for operations just ahead of the festive Dussehra-Diwali spending season.

Apple is also planning to bring in two physical retail stores in India. The first one will be launched in (BKC) locality, and a second store will be launched in Bangalore near Minsk Square.

Poco X3 leaked online

Since becoming an independent brand in itself, Poco has launched a number of new smartphones in the market. The latest in the list was the budget segment offering, the Poco M2 Pro, and now the company could be ready to follow it up with a slightly more premium phone, the Poco X3. The phone could come with a 5,160mAh battery with support for 33W charging (11 Volts at 3 Amps). This will be quite a step up from the Poco X2 which has a 4,500mAh battery with 27W charging.

DJI officially announces Osmo Mobile 4, adding magnetic mounts to the foldable phone stabilizer

DJI is expanding its lineup of motorized smartphone video stabilizers with the newly announced Osmo Mobile 4. The DJI OM4 is available for $149, about $20 more than the Osmo Mobile 3 cost at launch, but it’s worth pointing out that the higher price includes a lot more accessories: a magnetic ring holder, magnetic clamp, carrying case, and a tripod.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S7, Samsung Galaxy Tab S7+ Tipped to Go on Sale in India on September 7

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 series was recently spotted on Amazon.in, hinting at an imminent launch in the Indian market, and now a rumor suggests that pre-orders for the tablets will begin real soon in India, and shipping will start from September 7. The two tablets are already listed on Amazon.in and Samsung India website, but their pricing or availability hasn’t been announced yet.

Flipkart Launches Nokia Media Streamer With Android 9 and Dedicated Remote, Priced at Rs. 3,499

Flipkart has launched the Nokia Media Streamer, a new Android-based streaming device for televisions, priced at Rs. 3,499. The  Nokia Media Streamer runs on Android 9, has a dedicated remote, and supports up to full-HD resolution streaming. Like other popular streaming devices such as the Mi TV Stick and the Amazon Fire TV Stick, this streamer will connect to your television through the HDMI port, and to the Internet via Wi-Fi to fetch streaming content. The Nokia Media Streamer has been on sale since August 28 on Flipkart.

Honor Watch GS Pro, Honor ViewPad 6, Honor ViewPad X6 to Launch on September 4

Honor Watch GS Pro is expected to launch at the IFA 2020 trade show on September 4. Honor is set to deliver a keynote address at the event in Berlin, where it is expected to launch the new smartwatch alongside the global variants of its Honor Pad 6 and Honor Pad X6 tablets. The 9.6-inch screen Honor Pad X6, also called ViewPad X6, begins at roughly Rs. 11,600. According to a report, there is an interesting trend that fancied our attention. Only larger US banks seem to have the resources to build robust AI applications for addressing business problems. This may reflect the tremendous difficulty of obtaining and retaining machine learning and AI talent.

Tech giants (Amazon, Google, and Facebook) are more generous than their financial counterparts. With their reputation for innovation and higher profit-per-employee ratios, allowing them to shower top talent with higher salaries and excellent perks, it’s increasingly difficult for mid-sized banks to hire talent to drive innovation. It’s unlikely that even behemoths like JPMorgan Chase or Wells Fargo will be able to compete well against the tech giants in the AI talent war of the next decade.

Banking Chatbots Are Hype

Trends in AI like “Chatbots” and “conversational interfaces” inspire enthusiasm and excitement in the banking world. However, they make up roughly 13.5% of the product offerings in banking. It is way less than expected, given that they make up nearly 39% of the AI use-cases across the top 100 banks.

Customer-facing functions like Customer Service, Wealth Management, Marketing, and Sales made up only 25%. Microsoft is Replacing Employees with AI

Until yesterday (not literally but almost) AI was a fancy word that was too far fetched to be true so soon. I mean robots and the likes were only a thing in the movies, right? Replacing humans? You must be kidding me!

No, we aren’t kidding you because not only has Artificial Intelligence – AI started rooting itself in our minds but has also begun to create waves in the real work world. Now, these waves are pleasant for some while a Tsunami for many others. 

For instance and for news, Microsoft has taken over the job of taking everyone’s job. We mean that they’ve replaced dozens of journalists with artificial intelligence. This means that journalists have been fired. We are talking about the employees who maintained the homepages on Microsoft’s MSN website and its Edge browser. They have been told (indirectly, of course) that robots will most definitely do a better job than them. Is there really a subtle way to say this? We aren’t sure. 

Around 27 employees at PA Media were told that they have only a month’s time to say goodbye after Microsoft decided to make AI the star employee of the month, year, decade and so on.. and to stop employing real people to select, edit and curate news articles on all the homepages.

Is this notice too short? Of course. Besides the fact that AI has been in the news since quite some time now and there has been a lot of talk around how it will replace humans in so many ways, employees didn’t expect it to happen this fast. They also didn’t expect Microsoft to give such a short notice. They’re not surprised as they knew this would come sooner or later but they’re startled because it’s too sudden. 

Humans over Artificial Intelligence AI

In defense of humans over Artificial Intelligence, one employee deemed the decision extremely risky, as the AI might not be able to deliver results as per the “very strict editorial guidelines” which can only be adhered to by humans at all possible times. Use of AI could lead to violent or inappropriate content being presented on opening the browser and there could be an underage person sitting on the other end of the screen. 

Well, only time will tell who beats whom but we know one thing for sure. The fight is real. With so much happening across the world where we have a fight against racism and a pandemic, here we are in a fight against tech too! Human beings or AI? Who do you think will be the real winner here? 

Touchless Technology Saves the Day

Since everything is revolving around Coronavirus, it’s treatment and the ‘new normal’, let’s think about what the world might look like if technology was to evolve too. I mean, if besides social distancing, we were to maintain a distance from gadgets too, yet operate them at the same time, how would it be?

While touchscreen technology has been around for more than a decade now, we can hardly imagine life without it. Touchscreen phones, tabs, laptops, everything. Since viruses (especially Coronavirus) and other microorganisms tend to live on surfaces, can we really control a breakout of the same by coming up with ‘touchless’ technology?

Fast-forward to 2025 and I’m leaving to buy some groceries. I simply wink at my car door to open it. A ‘wink and blink’ technology. Cool, quick and efficient. Isn’t it? I remember registering my eyelid for anti-theft certification. It was a long process and my eye did hurt but we have to be cautious. It is better to have my eye hurt than contract Coronavirus. Now I can be sure that neither will my car be stolen nor will I contract Coronavirus (at least not by touching the surface of my car). What a relief.

I am back home and it is time to check my phone. It is at my work desk and I only have to wave ‘hello’ to it for its screen to appear on my TV – the big screen experience! I feel super lazy for not even lifting my hand to touch the phone but that’s what all of this new Touchless technology is about! Besides, my hand already hurts from waving ‘hello’. And now that the display is on the big screen, I’d finish a few tasks and enter a Zoom call for my official meeting. Let’s go with checking my social media accounts first. To enter my Instagram account, I simply make a ‘duck face’, for TikTok I need to make an exaggerated dance move and for Twitter, I need to speak a strong opinion for a ’cause’. Touchless technology is that simple! Crazy, isn’t it? For the Zoom call thereafter, I simply make an ‘It’s Monday again’ face and there we go. I’m beginning to think that why wasn’t Touchless technology always a way of life?

The whole of my face and body hurt right now by making all those expressions and gestures so it’s a free workout session every day too! That’s quite a bonus. I’m not complaining. What I’m thinking about is just this, that if we were winking at our cars without this ‘touchless’ technology, it would be so odd. Think about making that ‘it’s Monday again’ face to login to Zoom meetings and getting fired by your boss.

Well, so much for avoiding pandemics. We’re afraid of the touch but I guess we should be more afraid of the ‘touchless’ unless we want to get weirder, looted by tech companies for the new technology and well, more susceptible to a mental care rehabilitation centre. We’re okay with building herd immunity for now, I guess?
