Sony ULT Field 3 Review: Power, Bass & A Surprise You Won’t Expect

Overall, I think the Sony ULT FIELD 3 is a pretty good speaker. For the price, it offers strong durability, long battery life, and a fun bass-heavy sound when I want it. It may not be the clearest or lightest speaker out there, but it does the job really well, especially outdoors.

    The Good
    1. Rugged build that can handle outdoor conditions
    2. Long battery life with fast charging
    3. Strong bass with ULT mode
    4. Handy app features
    The Bad
    1. Sound loses some clarity at high volume
    2. Heavier than many other portable speakers
    3. No built-in voice assistant

    Design

When I first picked up the Sony ULT FIELD 3, it felt really solid. The build is tough and it’s clearly made for outdoor use since it can handle water, dust, and even a few drops without worry. I like that it comes with a strap, which makes it easier to carry, though I did notice it’s a bit on the heavier side. The design isn’t flashy, but I actually like the clean and practical look.

    Sound Quality

The sound surprised me. With ULT mode turned on, the bass feels strong and energetic; it really adds life to tracks that need a heavy beat. Without it, the sound feels a little thin and not as exciting, and at very high volumes it can lose some clarity. For casual listening it works well, but I feel it shines the most when I play bass-heavy music.

    Functionality

I found the app features really useful. The equalizer lets me adjust the sound the way I like, and there’s also the option to pair two devices at once. I also like that I can link multiple Sony speakers together for bigger sound. It doesn’t have a built-in voice assistant, but the microphone works well when connected to my phone, even in slightly noisy areas.

    Battery Life

The battery life impressed me the most. On a full charge, it easily lasts through the day, and I didn’t have to worry about it dying in the middle of use. The fast-charge feature is a big plus. Just a short charge gave me hours of playback.I recently attended this party with this speaker and it impressed me as well as the people as this stayed up all night.
