Arjun Kapoor X Volvo XC90 | Exhibit Drives

RS – Welcome to Exhibit Drives. I’ve come here to pick Arjun Kapoor in this new Volvo XC90. Apparently, I can see that he also has had one for a long time. I don’t know which car he’s going to pick today, but whatever he chooses is going to be a lot of fun conversation. Stay tuned and watch the video until the end because it’s going to be an exciting one.

RS – Hi Arjun, how’s life?

Arjun – Hi Ramesh, all good, how are you?

RS – I’m fine. Now, tell me, which one?

Arjun – Which one?… I already have one in my parking space. So, I’m going to choose the one you brought here.

RS – I thought so.

Arjun – But who’s going to drive? You or me?

RS – Please, let me drive!

Arjun – Okay, cool!

RS – Arjun, I have a surprise for you. Why don’t you open the glovebox?

Arjun – Ohh, nice, but don’t call it my surprise, it’s our surprise.

RS –Now, we’ll play a simple game. It’s called pairing mode, where you have to connect your phone on Bluetooth with this and play your favourite track.

Arjun – I already own one Volvo, which is paired with my phone, and after pairing with this car, my phone would think, “How many Volvo’s this guy is buying?”

RS – So now you have to play the track.

Arjun plays the song.

RS – Nice track

Arjun – This is Diljit Dosanjh

RS – Is he your favourite?

Arjun – Yes, he’s not just my favourite in one thing, I like his fashion sense, his music, and of course his attitude.

RS – Now that we’re talking about music, are you a good singer?

Arjun – Not as good as Diljit, for sure, but I can give it a try because usually nobody likes when I sing, and now that you’ve asked, I’ll try my best.

Arjun sings Bol Naa Halke Halke from Jhoom Barabar Jhoom.

RS – Arjun, I’ll be honest, you suck!

Arjun – I agree

RS – So, Arjun, what are the 5 essential things you carry with you on a road trip?

Arjun – It is difficult to break it down into 5 things. I think the most important is to have a good amount of water and food. These are also necessities because you need to take care of yourself as you are going. It would be best if you had enough ways to charge your phone and electronic devices. So on a road trip, you are not compromising needing help from anyone else if your phone goes off or if your iPad etc., are not working correctly.

Arjun – I think a sleeping bag in case you need a layover somewhere where you are staying if you are staying out in the open in a tent. Great music because, most importantly, to make sure that you’re enjoying the drive and for everybody’s mood. What is the fifth thing? Good company, I think that’s essential on a road trip. You can go alone, but you should find good company on your way somehow.

RS – Who are the 6 people you will take in this 7-seater?

Arjun – Six people?

RS – Or 5 people?

Arjun – I haven’t had a road trip with my family, so I think ideally with my dad, Jahnvi, Khushi, Anshula and myself, that’s about it.

RS – I was expecting some dramatic answers

Arjun – No, no! I am not giving you TRP because I think that is overdue.

RS – Now let’s talk a bit of tech. Tell me, who would you pick, Elon Musk or Steve Jobs?

Arjun – I think for anybody in my generation, with all due respect to what Elon Musk is achieving today, it wouldn’t be possible without appreciating what Steve Jobs did and started the conversation and to go between Microsoft and then evolving his own company, Apple and the kind of tech that Apple has given to the world.

RS – Yeah, I agree with you, Arjun. Steve Jobs is my favourite also. Now since we are talking tech, let’s go deep. What do you think about meta, and what do you think about startups? Do you invest in startups, meta etc.?

Arjun – Where startups are concerned, I have invested in a couple of startups and trying to keep them low profile since we are startups. They should grow for what the business is.

RS – Correct

Arjun – Versus celebrities are coming in to try and push it. The one startup that I have spoken about is a food cloud which is very close to my heart primarily because it’s one of my friends. A couple of my friends from Delhi started this.

RS – So Arjun, what made you buy the XC90 in the first place?

Arjun – In pure, honest terms, the comfort and the fact that driving it is comfortable but along with that being a passenger in the car is even more comfortable because it is one of the smoothest drives. It’s such a silent beauty, it’s a sophisticated car and very understated. I rarely look at cars and pick them up in white, but I fell in love with the fact that it looks so clean. I think the design, slickness, and interiors are value for money. For anybody watching, I have to say, it’s a car that is value for money.

Arjun – I’ve done whatever basic research and study that you do, and you realise what an absolute steal and bargain for the feature. The kind of features and for the kind of sophistication and technology and the styling. It’s a car that I personally enjoy driving, even though I don’t get too much time to drive. My sister is obsessed, and she fights with me to use it. And I have to confess that it’s a car that will be with me for a long, long time because I’d prefer to upgrade it rather than swap. So for me, it’s like, I feel a sense of loyalty to Volvo because of how amazing the car has made me and my family feel.

RS – Arjun, what is the particular feature that you love about the car?

Arjun – Who doesn’t like a good massage?

RS – Yes. I am sure you are having one right now

Arjun – No, I am not. I am being very nice; that is my favourite feature for sure. And then the air cleanser. In a situation where you want to feel good sitting in your car, you know you want to relax and want to be able to breathe easy. It allows it to happen.

RS – So Arjun, what is the next movie?

Arjun – I just wrapped a film called Kuttey. Then there is another film called Villain 2, directed by Mohit Suri, and there is John Abraham, Disha Patni, Tara Sutaria, and myself. Kuttey is Tabu, Naseeruddin Shah, Kumud Mishra, Radhika Madan, Shardul Bhardwaj and myself. So these are the two films I have completed shooting that will hit screens in the second half of this year, and I am going to start a new film with Bhumi in a couple of weeks’ time, called Lady Killer.

RS – Oh wow! You often drive Arjun, or do you prefer being chauffeured around with all the paparazzi etc.?

Arjun – In Mumbai, it becomes difficult to drive because there is chaos around us, like you said. I rarely get to drive, but when I do, I prefer driving the Volvo only as it’s again discreet and low key and you can get away even before people realise who it was in the car.

RS – Are you itching to drive, by the way?

Arjun – Daytime and Sea Link’s combination is perfect to drive. Of course, if you would let me.

RS – Sure, I’ll just pull over now. I shouldn’t have asked this question, but now that I have asked I will switch over.

Music

RS – What is the best time for you to drive?

Arjun – The latter half of the day is easier to drive for me because there is less traffic. When you are working the whole day, you get out driving you definitely want to do it without the traffic, the honking and the chaos. And Mumbai’s traffic is not the easiest to drive. I think a lot, so I do not like to drive in that thought process. I like to drive when my head is clear, and the roads are clear, night is the best time I feel.

RS – I am sure when you drive at night, do these driving assistants really help while parking?

Arjun – For a person like me, whether it is day or night for a person like me. I have to confess, parking in Mumbai is a skill in itself. You may learn to drive, but you need to do a PhD in parking. I have to confess, and this car has made that process much simpler for me, so you don’t feel as paranoid about stepping out with this car because the parking assistant is going to make sure you are not stuck in a difficult situation. It may look easy but is very complicated.

RS – Okay Arjun, we’re in the last leg of the conversation. I enjoyed talking with you about cars, tech, etc. Honestly, I don’t usually let people sit in my driver’s seat.

Arjun – I’m feeling honoured that you let me have it.

RS – So, before we wrap up, you have to say a joke, and before that, please say bye.

Arjun – Bye is better than a joke. First, you made me sing, and now you are asking me to crack a joke.

RS – Come on! It’s time for a joke. So guys, don’t forget to give us a thumbs up. Drop the comments about whatever you liked the best about the video. Arjun, now it’s time for your joke.

Arjun – So there is a very stressed and upset patient who goes to the doctor. The doctor says, what happened? What’s the matter? The patient says I am addicted to Instagram, really addicted, and the situation is really bad. Do something, help me. So the doctor looks around at him very calmly and says I am sorry I don’t follow you.

RS – Was that a joke?

Founders Club: Aakrit Vaish / Co-Founder and CEO, Haptik

Ex: How have things changed ever since Reliance Industries acquired Haptik?

Aakrit: The strategic investment by Jio has helped Haptik secure the support and resources needed to massively scale up operations – enhancing and expanding our Enterprise CX platform that caters to 300+ clients today. This partnership has also boosted Haptik’s existing enterprise business, augmenting our ability to build innovative solutions for enterprise partners across the globe.

Ex: Could you explain Conversational AI in simple terms?

Aakrit: Conversational AI is the term that can be used to describe an AI-enabled chat solution on the brand’s website, app, and any other messaging platforms, and they are widely known as “chatbots”. Brands can leverage the capabilities of a Conversational AI solution to enhance their CX and NPS. We can deploy a Conversational AI solution to reduce customer support costs, boost customer engagement and increase sales.

Ex: How does Haptik stand out in an ocean of similar service providers?

Aakrit: Haptik is the Conversational AI industry pioneer and operates at an unparalleled scale. Haptik also enjoys the trust of some of India’s largest brands. Haptik offers an end-to-end 360° holistic CX suite to our customers. Haptik’s proprietary Natural Language Understanding (NLU) leads the industry with the most human-like conversational experience for our customers.

Haptik enables Enterprise-grade architecture with 200k CCU and 99.9% uptime. Its compliance with GDPR and ISO: 27001 ensures the highest security practices in place for your brand. Apart from having the best-in-class technology, our partners get a top-notch Customer Success team who understands their business goals & objectives and aligns the solution to meet such needs.

Ex: Why should you add Instagram chatbots to your CX stack?

Aakrit: Messaging is an integral part of Instagram; it helps customers connect with brands personally through multiple avenues like Feed, Stories, Mentions, and DM’s. It is a solid revenue stream for many brands. It boosts sales by accelerating the decision-making process for customers, increases average cart order, improves conversions, and drives repeat purchases. The AI chatbot can collect basic user details such as email, phone number, and intent of reaching out.

Instagram chatbots can answer prices, order statuses, cancellations, and other typical questions. If a customer issue is complicated, it can be automatically escalated to a live person based on their skill sets and current workload, leading to faster responses, lower wait times, and improved customer satisfaction. Instagram chatbots can also be leveraged to drive deeper customer engagement through unique features such as Trigger keyword-based conversations, Icebreakers & Advertising CTA.

Ex: What are the current and emerging trends of WhatsApp e-commerce?

Aakrit: WhatsApp recently launched its new UI elements, a game-changer for the Conversational Commerce space. The new UI elements will boost the adoption of WhatsApp as a substantial revenue generator for multiple brands across different industries.

WhatsApp also launched Marketing Notifications, known as non-transactional messages, to revolutionize how brands imagine customer engagement. In addition to the new UI elements, WhatsApp has also enabled brands to provide a seamless 3-click payment experience.

Ex: How are small businesses using WhatsApp to drive sales?

Aakrit: WhatsApp has been an asset for every small business. WhatsApp’s products have always prioritized the growth of SMBs. Haptik launched Interakt, a custom WhatsApp solution for small business owners who want to leverage the power of WhatsApp. With the help of WhatsApp Catalogs & Carts, brands can transform WhatsApp into a sales channel by helping customers discover & purchase products here!

The Automated Business Notifications feature enables brands to efficiently manage customer conversations and improve their experience by creating automated workflows. Businesses can also send Bulk Campaigns & Broadcasts to reach out to their customers with relevant communication to build recall and boost sales. Brands can also roll out high-performing, top-of-the-mind notifications to alert users about new product catalogues, back-in-stock goods, and much more.

Ex: What are Haptik’s plans for growth and future endeavours?

Aakrit: We always think of expansion in terms of three different axis: new geography, new products, and new types of customers. As far as geography is concerned, we’ve expanded into four new countries this past year, all of which are in the development stage right now – North America (USA), South East Asia (Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines), Africa.

The second axis is new products. We have launched three to five new products this year, all beyond the standard chatbot offering. These include AI Agent Assist, Voice bot, Email bot, and two more products are coming up this month. And then finally, the third axis is new types of customers. Before this year, we have exclusively focused on Enterprise Customers. But this year, we launched a product for small and medium businesses, which is called Interakt. Interakt in one year is approaching almost half a million dollars in ARR. It is already contributing to roughly 5% of Haptik’s business, and in the next financial year, it could contribute to maybe 20% of Haptik’s business.

Review – OnePlus Nord CE 2 5G – Affordable & Admirable

OnePlus is a brand that entered into the world of smartphones with premium smartphones, and until today it is known for its flagship devices only. However, the Chinese brand has manufactured many mid-range smartphones in the last couple of years, including their most popular NORD series. The company recently added another mid-range smartphone on their resume – OnePlus Nord CE 2 5G, an updated version of the OnePlus Nord CE.

First Impressions

The new Nord looks admirable, and one can immediately fall in love with this smartphone, but one thing I would like to glorify here – the OnePlus Nord CE 2 5G is not altogether a new smartphone, as it makes you think, you are you looking at the identical version of the Oppo Reno7 5G. Sadly, both smartphones are available for sale at the same time in the same marketplaces, and only Oppo will explain why!

Design & Display

Though the smartphone is made for a budget audience, it doesn’t look like one when you hold it for the first time. The subtle looking smartphone has a typical hole punch camera design and looks more premium and separate from the Nord CE. The smartphone has a flat ceramic-like plate on the rear, which is basically a glass made of Corning Gorilla Glass 5, and it houses its camera module. The smartphone is available in 2 colour options only – Bahama Blue and Gray Mirror.

The new Nord features 6.43 inches Fluid AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate, and it houses a 32MP Sony IMX615 camera with an f/2.4 aperture on the extreme left side of the phone. On the rear side, the smartphone has two large camera sensors and one smaller one, placed right above the flash. The right profile of the phone boasts a lock button, while the left one sports a SIM tray with space for a microSD card and volume rockers.

The bottom edge of the smartphone houses a USB-C charging port, 3.5 mm audio jack, and a speaker grille, while the top edge of the smartphone features a microphone. The Nord CE 2 5G features an in-display fingerprint sensor, and it’s pretty quick all the time. Sometimes the contrast of the phone gets a little too heavy due to the dark bezels of the phone, causing trouble to the eyes.

Chipset & Performance

The Nord CE 2 5G gets OxygenOS 11.3 out of the box and features a MediaTek Dimensity 900 chipset, but still, you should not expect lightning-fast reaction times and absolutely zero lag from the mid-range smartphones as they’re not built for the same. However, the OnePlus Nord CE 5G offers decent performance and is fast enough, especially compared to the other smartphones in the mid-range category.

The company has advertised the smartphone as having fast-smooth performance, and in most gaming sessions, it works fine without much of an issue. In our short gaming test, the phone seemed powerful enough to offer a pretty good touch response and handling while playing games such as Asphalt 9: Legends and Marvel Future Revolution. Though, sometimes the back of the phone got a little warm during long gaming sessions.

Camera & Battery

The OnePlus Nord CE 2 5G sports a triple camera setup (64-MP primary camera, an 8-MP ultra-wide camera, and a 2-MP macro camera) on the back, with each camera having a metal rim. While in the front, you get a 16-MP selfie camera with an f/2.4 aperture. The primary camera offers decent and exploited daylight images, but not as good as the Nord 2. In the lower light conditions, it fails to deliver anything good and delivers dark and artificially sharp clicks.

When it comes to the selfie camera, it doesn’t even offer proper skin tones. All you get in the outcomes are over-softened images. The low-light camera performance could be better, but it is a mid-range smartphone and focusing on that, what it offers is pretty enough. The battery of the smartphone is genuinely excellent and lasts long for over 24 hours, even after heavy use. It has a 4,500mAh battery, and to pump up the battery quickly, the phone comes with a 65W fast-charging support.

Verdict

Overall, the Nord CE 2 5G is a decent buy and worth the price, especially when you haven’t experienced the previous model. The mid-range smartphone market is very congested as many companies are trying to fit their smartphones in the range, including Apple. The OnePlus Nord CE 2 5G is a complete package and can be referred to as an everyday phone. However, there are other smartphones in the market too that you can consider, such as Realme 9 Pro+, Mi 11X and Xiaomi 11i.

Apple March 2022 Event Highlights – iPhone SE 3, iPad Air 5 and Apple M1 Ultra Chip

February 2022 was a month of smartphone launches, but sadly Apple didn’t launch anything in the month, which was a little disappointing. However, yesterday, on the occasion of International Women’s Day, Apple unveiled several products, including iPhone SE 3, iPad Air 5, Mac Studio, Apple Studio Display and Apple M1 Ultra chip. Let’s take a look at them one by one.

iPhone SE 3

Apple unveiled iPhone SE 3 at the event, which looks the same as the iPhone 6 design but offers much more. The new iPhone SE (2022) runs on an A15 chipset, the same as the iPhone 13 series. The display and storage options remain the same as it was on the previous model – 4.7″ and 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB. The smartphone has an enhanced battery, superstar camera, an incredible water resistance feature, and of course, a home button, which some of us love while some don’t.

iPad Air 5

The newly launched iPad Air 5 stands firmly between the cheap iPads and expensive iPads. It has Apple’s M1 chipset and optional 5G support with eSIM, but the base model is Wi-Fi-only. The M1 chip allows the iPad Air 5 to match the iPad Pro in performance.

The Air 5 also features the new ultrawide front camera with Center Stage, which automatically pans during video calls. The iPad Air 5 features a 10.9″ Liquid Retina display, landscape stereo speakers, Touch ID, and on the back, it has a 12-MP camera.

Along with these two, Apple also launched a supercharged Mac mini with an M1 Max chip and a 27-inch studio display with 5K resolution and 600 nits, which also has a 12-MP camera and powerful speaker system. Lastly, Apple announced its most powerful ARM-based custom processor, the Apple M1 Ultra chip, which packs a 20-core CPU, 64-core GPU and 32-core Neural Engine.

Instagram removed Standalone apps, Boomerang and Hyperlapse from Play Store and App Store

Technology can indeed be regarded as the marvel of the 21st century. The dynamic pace at which technology is becoming obsolete and replaced by new technology is commendable. Today, the way people connect and communicate clearly elucidates the fact that communication technology has evolved drastically.

Back in 2006, when Facebook was officially launched in India, it immediately replaced the then social media applications like Orkut. Facebook, followed by WhatsApp and then Instagram, has clearly revolutionized the segment of personal communication. Instagram undeniably is the bearer of the limelight. It allows its users to click pictures, followed by various filters to edit the picture and upload on the same platform.

Two of the most recognized filters of the gram are hyperlapse and boomerang, which are now removed from the apple and google play stores. The primary question that arises is why these filters are removed despite being so much in demand. The answer is that the feature of these applications is being integrated into Instagram itself, thus eliminating the need for standalone applications.

One of the key advantages of integrating these filters in Instagram is that it eases the use. Instead of using two separate applications, one application comes in handy. Second, Instagram possesses more downloads and usage than these two applications combined, thus increasing the more frequent use of these filters. Third, it helps in mainstreaming the images on one platform and hence is eases the hassle of saving images separately on a different application.

Devita Saraf’s best TV launch of 2022 is here – The VU Masterpiece Glo QLED

Devita Saraf, Chairman and CEO, Vu Group, at the best TV launch of 2022, said, “Vu Televisions launches the Vu Masterpiece Glo QLED and this TV is the ultimate showcase of how Vu has blended every aspect of luxury in technology – from Quality, Innovation, Design, Technology, Software, Hardware, Customer Experience and more”. She further added on the inspiration behind the TV saying, “In this universe of NFTs and Metaverse, art is also becoming digital and you require a platform that really showcases it in a mesmerizing manner and for that what you need is a Masterpiece. This isn’t just a TV, this is the Vu Masterpiece Glo QLED!”

Vu Televisions is the first and only brand in India to be associated with an alliance of Top Hollywood Directors like Martin Scorsese and Christopher Nolan to enable Filmmaker Mode in the TV. The Vu Masterpiece Glo QLED TV with the Filmmaker Mode shows content exactly in the vision that the director created. In most large or small screens, there are a lot of overlays and filters that are added, which take away the essence of how it was intended to be shown by the directors and Filmmaker mode ensures the content reproduction is true to format, colours and effects it was shot in.

The Vu Masterpiece Glo QLED TV has 800 nits of brightness with Full Array Local Dimming and is the only QLED with a 120 Hz screen refresh rate. For the surround sound experience, Vu has created the World’s first Built-in 100W Sleek Armani Gold 4.1 Sound System with Sub-woofers that bring a home theatre effect without cluttering your space. Most importantly, what matters in a high-end TV is the type of content you want to play on it.

With the successful innovations by Vu like the AI Mode, the Cricket Mode and the Cinema Mode, The Vu Masterpiece Glo QLED is now the first television that has Spotify, and with a click on the remote, it will play your playlist, and your TV goes from being from theatre to a DJ in like a minute! The Vu Masterpiece Glo QLED comes with advanced GPUs with a Quad-Core Processor and 3GB RAM, and 16GB storage, making it the perfect TV for Gaming.

The Vu Masterpiece Glo QLED is crafted in Armani Gold Premium Aluminum Alloy with a bezel-less display and complimenting metal stands with the same sleek design and precision that used in luxury cars and watches, which makes it a true Masterpiece even when you look at it. Additionally, the TV is equipped with a Built-in Far-Field Array Microphone for Hands-free voice search, which enables the user to command the TV with searches like Show the Movie, Fast forward, Increase the volume, change the input and many more.

Vu Televisions has been the experts in television for over a decade and have their R&D where the product is built from scratch to masterpiece considering that the content will be played on a big screen which has a real estate of 140 mobile phones and makes sure that every corner of the television is able to showcase the perfect picture quality suitable for every viewing angle. To enable this, Vu has created the FractalVu technology. FractalVu is inspired by the naturally occurring pattern called fractals.

Something as simple as a leaf and look at it under a microscope you see a smaller version of the same leaf, and the pattern repeats itself to infinity. Learning from how nature creates detail, Vu took this idea and built a screen mosaic of multiple micro screens, each with its fractal intelligence in which the blacks look deeper, and colours look truer. The brand had launched the Vu Masterpiece 85″ QLED in 2020 and is the highest selling 85″ TV in India. The Vu Masterpiece Glo QLED will be available on Amazon and Vustore.com at Rs. 74,999 for 55-inch, Rs. 99,999 for the 65inch and Rs. 179,999 for the 75-inch.

Top 10 Photography Tips and Tricks

“Skill in photography is acquired by practice and not by purchase” – Percy W Harris.

Photography can never be learned thoroughly; it comes by practice and perseverance. As one starts capturing images learning and unlearning happen daily. But some basic rules mustn’t be forgotten.

1. Rule of Thirds:

As the name suggests, the frame is divided into three equal parts horizontally and vertically. The intersection points of each square grid are essential to place the elements on those lines. This will help in a visual appeal and enhance the photograph.

2. Exposure Triangle:

ISO, Shutter Speed, and Aperture make up the exposure triangle in photography. A balanced triangle will give a more appealing image and sharp photographs. The ISO controls the camera’s sensitivity to light. Shutter speed controls the time for which the lenses shutter will be open while clicking a photo. Aperture controls the amount of light entering the camera lens.

3. White Balance:

To capture clear and accurate photos, the camera’s white balance should be adjusted. It is done according to the light being used to click pictures. Automatic white balance (AWB), Fluorescent, Tungsten, Daylight, Cloudy, Flash, Shade is the most commonly used white balance settings.

4. The Golden Ratio:

The focus is more on the centre according to this ratio. It is a ratio of approximately 1.618 to 1. It has been used for centuries by architects artists and can be found naturally in our surroundings.

5. Leading Lines:

These lines appear in a photograph showing the viewers’ attention from one part of the photograph to the other. The leading lines direct the viewers’ eyes to the main subject of the composition.

6. Depth of Field:

In photography, the depth of field (DOF) is the distance between the nearest object in the foreground and the farthest object in the background. A shallow or a deep depth of field can significantly impact a photograph.

7. Avoid Camera Shake:

Avoiding pictures looking blurred is the most essential and fundamental aspect of photography. To make sure the photograph is sharp and clear, one’s hands must be steady at all times. Using a tripod stand is also a great way to click clear images.

8. Shoot in RAW:

Starting to shoot in RAW will give higher resolution photos and let one have more control in post-production. The RAW format will not compress the images.

9. Understand Perspectives:

Try and click a photo from different angles to give it perspectives. The more you click from various angles, the more perspective you will get in a single photograph.

10. Avoid Flash Indoors:

Using flash indoors can make the photo look unnatural and harsh. One can use a higher ISO to replace flash, select the required shutter speed, and use the widest aperture.
