BenQ has unveiled its latest home cinema projectors, the W5850 and W4100i, at the Smart Home Expo 2025 in Mumbai. These projectors represent a significant advancement in Solid-State Illumination (SSI) and cinematic quality, enhancing how consumers in India enjoy movies and other forms of entertainment in their homes.
The introduction of the W Series aims to establish a new benchmark for home entertainment by combining professional-grade visual performance with an intuitive design. Given the rise of home theatres as central spots for storytelling and shared experiences, BenQ’s latest offerings cater to cinephiles, content creators, and AV integrators looking for high-quality solutions.
The W5850 projector is designed for large-scale viewing and delivers a 200-inch image with exceptional colour accuracy and contrast, ideally suited for darkroom environments. Key features include a digital four-way lens shift, a 1.6x motorized zoom, and a powerful 2600-lumen blue core laser, which allows it to project an impressive 180-inch screen from just four meters away.
The W4100i enhances everyday viewing experiences with 3200 ANSI lumens brightness and built-in Android TV. It features an AI Cinema Mode that optimizes visual performance based on content and ambient conditions.

Both models leverage BenQ’s advanced technologies, including CinematicColor (100% DCI-P3) and HDR-PRO, which enhance colour precision, contrast, and HDR format compatibility, including support for HDR10+ and HLG. Additional features such as Dolby Atmos pass-through, eARC, and low latency of 17.9ms aim to provide an enriching audio-visual experience across various genres.
Rajeev Singh, Managing Director of BenQ India & South Asia, highlighted the company’s commitment to making advanced cinema technology accessible for home users. “With the W5850 and W4100i, we’re enabling the next chapter of cinematic expression in Indian homes,” Singh noted.
