Canon has unveiled plans to expand its consumer printing network significantly. The company aims to increase its presence to over 10,000 active retailers across 700 cities by the end of 2027, effectively doubling its current distribution reach. This move is supported by sustained double-digit growth in its Consumer Printing business and is designed to enhance product accessibility and strengthen Canon’s foothold in high-potential Tier II, III, and IV markets.
The expansion is expected to meet the growing printing needs in sectors such as home, education, and entrepreneurship, particularly in Tier II to IV cities where there is rising demand due to increased entrepreneurship and digital adoption. By establishing a network across these cities, Canon seeks to improve product availability, brand visibility, and access to expert consultation and service support for consumers.
In conjunction with this expansion, Canon is investing in product innovation, digital commerce, and partner capabilities. These investments will allow Canon and its partners to gain deeper insights into local market requirements and deliver tailored solutions to various customer segments.
Furthermore, Canon India is introducing the BizBee platform as an extension of the Canon Passport Program, which currently supports over 5,000 active reseller partners. BizBee aims to enhance partner enablement within the B2B ecosystem by providing System Integrators and Value-Added Resellers with access to incentives, training, technical certifications, and business resources.
Mr. Toshiaki Nomura, President & CEO of Canon India, emphasized India’s importance for Canon’s long-term growth strategy. He stated that the country’s economic resilience and the emergence of new centers of enterprise and consumption present significant opportunities for growth in the printing business. The plan to establish a network of over 10,000 retailers reflects Canon’s commitment to invest in enhancing customer access through trusted channels that provide both product experience and expert guidance.
To further bolster this growth, Canon is developing an integrated omnichannel ecosystem that includes traditional resellers, large-format retail chains, e-commerce, quick commerce, and enterprise-focused partners. This approach facilitates customers in discovering, experiencing, and purchasing Canon products through their preferred channels.
Canon’s retail ecosystem currently features more than 400 active PIXMA Zones, with plans to launch over 500 PIXMA Zone Lite stores this year. Meanwhile, the Canon eSHOP aims to enhance digital access by allowing authorized resellers to sell Canon products through a reliable online platform.
As part of its retail expansion strategy, Canon is also focusing on engaging retailers and improving frontline capabilities. The Retail Display Incentive Program aims to involve over 1,000 partners to enhance in-store visibility. Simultaneously, the RetailChamp initiative is scaling from 400 to over 1,000 retail sales personnel to improve product knowledge and customer consultation.
Alongside these initiatives, Canon is working to expand its System Integrator ecosystem to over 500 partners nationwide, particularly targeting enterprise, education, and government segments.
Mr. C Sukumaran, Vice President of Canon India, remarked that the channel ecosystem is critical to translating Canon’s growth ambitions into tangible business impact. As they expand operations, the company remains focused on building partner and frontline capabilities to meet local demands and deliver a reliable customer experience. The ongoing initiatives, including Canon Passport, RetailChamp, and BizBee, are intended to strengthen partner engagement and knowledge throughout the ecosystem.
