Lava has expanded its smartphone portfolio with the launch of the new Virat series, introducing the Virat V1 5G and Virat V1 as part of its push into India’s online-first smartphone market. Developed in partnership with Flipkart, the new lineup is aimed at young consumers seeking affordable smartphones with clean software and dependable performance.
The Lava Virat V1 5G is priced at ₹11,999 as a launch-day offer, while the Virat V1 debuts at ₹8,999. The introductory prices will be valid on July 31, when sales begin on Flipkart and Lava’s official website at 12 PM. Thereafter, the smartphones will retail at ₹12,999 and ₹9,999, respectively.

Leading the series is the Virat V1 5G, which features a 6.75-inch HD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a UNISOC T8200 processor, 4GB RAM with an additional 4GB of virtual RAM, and 64GB of expandable storage. It is backed by a 6,000mAh battery and sports a 13MP AI dual rear camera alongside a 5MP selfie camera. The device also offers IP64-rated dust and water resistance, Android 16 out of the box, and a stock Android experience without ads or bloatware.
The standard Virat V1 retains the 6.75-inch HD+ display but is powered by the UNISOC SC9863A chipset and a 5,000mAh battery. It also includes 4GB RAM with virtual RAM support, 64GB storage, a 13MP AI dual rear camera, a 5MP front camera, and IP64 protection.
Commenting on the launch, Sunil Raina, Managing Director of Lava International, said the Virat series has been designed to meet the evolving expectations of Indian smartphone buyers with a focus on reliability, meaningful innovation and refined design. Flipkart’s Vice President of Mobiles, Kanchan Mishra, added that the partnership aims to strengthen the affordable smartphone segment by combining Lava’s products with Flipkart’s online reach and Open Box Delivery service. Both smartphones will also be backed by Lava’s Free Service@Home after-sales support.
