OpenAI has introduced two powerful new utility features for ChatGPT subscribers on macOS. The artificial intelligence application now supports Record Mode, enabling users to record meetings, brainstorming sessions, and voice notes, along with automatic transcription and summarization of key discussion points. This feature is currently exclusive to ChatGPT Team subscribers.
Additionally, the San Francisco-based AI company has launched Connectors, a functionality that allows ChatGPT to integrate with internal cloud-based data sources such as Gmail, Outlook, and Google Drive. These updates aim to streamline business workflows and enhance productivity for professional users.
ChatGPT Can Now Record Your Meetings with Record Mode on macOS
Through a series of tweets on X (formerly Twitter), OpenAI announced the rollout of the new ChatGPT features. The company also hosted a live stream on YouTube showcasing the business-focused capabilities. While both features are available only to paid subscribers, Record Mode is specifically designed for Team users and is currently unavailable in the European Economic Area, China, and the United Kingdom.
Record Mode is available on ChatGPT’s macOS desktop app and can be accessed by pressing the new Record button at the bottom of any chat. Once microphone access is granted, ChatGPT begins recording the session, which can include meetings or voice notes. After the session ends, it provides an editable summary of the conversation along with the recording.

Users will also be able to search for past meetings and relevant mentions, with the transcripts stored as a canvas in the chat history. These transcripts can be converted into emails, project plans, or even code templates. Record Mode supports up to 120 minutes of continuous recording per session, enhancing its value for detailed discussions and collaborative work.
Connectors Bring Gmail and Outlook Integration to ChatGPT
Alongside Record Mode, OpenAI has launched Connectors, a feature that allows ChatGPT to interact with third-party platforms. This integration supports data retrieval from sources such as Outlook, Teams, Google Drive, Gmail, and Linear. Team, Enterprise, and Edu users can also access files from platforms like SharePoint, DropBox, and Box.
Connectors are functional only when Deep Research is enabled. OpenAI is also empowering workspace administrators by allowing the creation of custom Deep Research Connectors using the Model Context Protocol (MCP), currently in beta.
