Mahindra & Mahindra has become the first automaker in the world to offer Dolby Atmos in an SUV priced under ₹12 lakh.
The feature debuts on the newly launched XUV 3XO REVX A variant, marking a significant step in making premium in-car audio accessible to a wider audience.
Originally designed for cinemas, Dolby Atmos creates an immersive soundstage that reveals layers of detail in music and entertainment.
Inside the car, this translates into a more engaging listening experience, giving drivers and passengers the feeling of being surrounded by sound rather than hearing it from just the speakers.
For the XUV 3XO, Dolby Atmos will be available on the REVX A, AX5L, AX7, and AX7L variants.
All models use a six-speaker system specially tuned to the SUV’s cabin layout.
The AX7L variant goes a step further with a dedicated subwoofer, delivering deeper bass and enhanced clarity.
R Velusamy, President, Automotive Business (Designate), Mahindra & Mahindra, called the move a milestone in democratising advanced technology.
“With the sub-₹12 lakh XUV 3XO REVX A, we are redefining in-cabin audio with immersive sound for a larger group of consumers,” he said.
Beyond Atmos, Mahindra has integrated Gaana streaming into the infotainment system, enabling occupants to access Dolby Atmos Music directly.
The XUV 3XO is now the fourth Mahindra vehicle line to feature Atmos, following the BE 6, XEV 9e, and Thar ROXX.
With deliveries beginning mid-September, Mahindra’s move positions the XUV 3XO as not just a category disruptor in pricing, but also in the quality of the driving and listening experience.
