SanDisk has announced a new ultra-compact storage device called the SanDisk Extreme Fit USB-C Flash Drive, which the company claims is the smallest 1TB USB-C flash drive available today. The device is designed for users who want high-capacity storage without adding bulk to their laptop, tablet, or desktop.
The drive is already on sale in the US through SanDisk’s official online store, while its availability on the Indian website is still pending.
Ultra-Small Plug-and-Stay Design
SanDisk’s Extreme Fit features a minimal, L-shaped design that sits almost flush against the device once connected. Instead of sticking out horizontally like traditional flash drives, it angles slightly upward, reducing the chance of accidental knocks or damage. This setup makes it ideal as a near-permanent storage extension, particularly for laptops with limited internal space.
Performance and Storage Options
The lineup includes 64GB, 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB capacities.
Models from 128GB and above offer read speeds up to 400MB/s, while the 64GB version delivers up to 300MB/s.
The drive uses the USB 3.2 Gen 1 interface and supports the SanDisk Memory Zone app on Windows and macOS. This companion app allows users to organise files, back up photos, free up space, and even set up automated backup routines directly to the flash drive.
