Tata Motors has taken the veil off its new Punch EV, adding what look like meaningful upgrades across design, tech and battery capability. The subcompact eSUV gets a starting price of ₹9.69 lakh (ex-showroom), but a new BaaS model has also been introduced that brings down its upfront cost to ₹6.49 lakh, with the usage billed at ₹2.6 per kilometre.
Fresh Exterior Design
Visually, the Punch EV now gets a sharper front-end treatment. The updated fascia features new LED DRLs connected by a black strip, stacked headlamps housed in triangular pods, and a redesigned bumper.
At the rear, the silhouette remains largely familiar, but Tata has reprofiled the LED tail lamps and added a sleek, full-width LED light bar that brings it closer to the brand’s newer EV design language.

Bigger Battery
The biggest update is the new 40 kWh battery pack. It carries an ARAI-certified range of 468 km, while Tata quotes a real-world C75 range of 355 km. Using a 65 kW DC fast charger, the battery can be charged from 20 to 80 percent in 26 minutes. Tata also claims that a 15-minute top-up can add up to 135 km of range.
For buyers prioritising affordability, Tata continues to offer the 30 kWh variant, which delivers an ARAI-certified range of 365 km. Both versions are powered by a single front-mounted electric motor.
The motor produces 127 bhp, enabling a 0 to 100 kmph sprint in under 9 seconds. Drive modes include City, Eco and Sport, along with four levels of regenerative braking.
Lifetime Battery Warranty

One of the strongest ownership assurances comes in the form of a lifetime, unlimited-kilometre warranty on the battery pack — a move that significantly boosts buyer confidence in long-term EV ownership.
