Xiaomi has unveiled its latest flagship smartphone lineup, the Xiaomi 17 Series, during an event in Barcelona ahead of Mobile World Congress 2026. We also witnessed the launch in Delhi, hosted by Xiaomi India. The announcement, which took place on February 28, 2026, also included new tablets and wearables as well as a conceptual electric hypercar, highlighting the company’s expansion across mobile devices and its connected ecosystem.
Xiaomi 17 Series Smartphones

The Xiaomi 17 Series includes the standard Xiaomi 17 and the higher-end Xiaomi 17 Ultra, both powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Mobile Platform. The devices highlight advanced imaging through an enhanced partnership with Leica, which has shifted to a Strategic Co-creation Model for deeper collaboration on optics and software.
The Xiaomi 17 features a compact design with a thickness of 8.06mm and a weight of 191g. It includes ultra-slim bezels measuring 1.18mm and is equipped with a versatile camera system centered on the Light Fusion 950 sensor (1/1.31″ size). This supports high dynamic range performance, a 60mm Leica floating telephoto lens for portrait and macro capabilities, and video recording up to 4K 60fps with Dolby Vision and Log formats. A 50MP front camera offers improved autofocus. The phone houses a 6330mAh battery supporting 100W wired and 50W wireless HyperCharge.

The Xiaomi 17 Ultra is positioned as the series’ imaging flagship, featuring a 1″ LOFIC main sensor for enhanced HDR, a 200MP telephoto lens with 75–100mm mechanical optical zoom (extending to 400mm equivalent via digital means), and cinema-grade video features including 4K 120fps Dolby Vision on main and telephoto cameras. It measures 8.29mm thick and weighs 218.4g, with a 6000mAh battery supporting 90W wired and 50W wireless charging. Both models incorporate durable builds with Xiaomi Guardian Structure, including IP68 rating and improved drop resistance.

A special edition, the Leica Leitzphone powered by Xiaomi, marks Leica’s 100-year anniversary. It features a physical camera ring dial, Leica Essential mode simulating classic Leica camera styles, and a refreshed interface focused on professional photography.
The series runs on Xiaomi HyperOS 3 and supports features such as AI Creativity Assistant and HyperConnect to enhance workflows.
Xiaomi Pad 8 Series Tablets

Xiaomi introduced the Xiaomi Pad 8 and Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro, described as its thinnest and most powerful tablets for global markets. Both feature an 11.2-inch 3.2K display with a refresh rate of up to 144Hz and 800 nits of brightness.
The Pad 8 Pro is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite platform, with a 9200mAh battery and 67W charging. It offers up to 512GB storage, a 50MP rear camera, and a matte glass option with anti-reflective nano-texture coating. The Pad 8 uses the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4, supports 45W charging, and offers up to 256GB of storage.

Both run Xiaomi HyperOS 3, providing PC-like productivity tools such as enhanced multitasking, Workstation Mode, and WPS Office integration. Accessories include the Xiaomi Focus Pen Pro stylus and various keyboards and covers.
Other Announcements
Xiaomi expanded its AIoT ecosystem with products such as the Xiaomi Scooter 6 Series and the Xiaomi Watch 5.
The company also revealed the Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo, an electric hypercar concept developed for the Gran Turismo franchise in collaboration with Polyphony Digital. The design focuses on aerodynamics, achieving a low drag coefficient through wind-sculpted elements, active systems, and a unique “Sofa Racer” cockpit integrating with Xiaomi’s smart ecosystem.
The Xiaomi 17 Series starts at approximately €999 for the base model and €1,499 for the Ultra in select markets like Europe. More details on regional pricing and availability, including for markets like India, are expected on March 11th.
