ŌURA has officially arrived in India. Starting on March 18, the Oura Ring 4 will be available for purchase through major retailers such as Croma and Amazon.
Exclusive Report: “India: The State of Sleep 2026”
In conjunction with the launch, ŌURA is releasing an informative report titled “India: The State of Sleep 2026,” which examines sleep trends among Indian Oura Members. According to Doug Sweeny, Chief Marketing Officer at ŌURA, this report was created to assess how Oura can enhance the well-being of millions of people in India. The findings highlight an important issue, like sleep quality in India appears to be adversely affected by the fast-paced lifestyle prevalent in the country.

Key Findings on Sleep Patterns in India
The report reveals that Indians are among the shortest-sleeping populations globally, averaging just 6 hours and 28 minutes of sleep per night, approximately 40 minutes less than the longest-sleeping countries. Health guidelines typically recommend 7–9 hours of sleep for adults, indicating that many individuals are accumulating sleep debt.
The study also found that Indian Oura Members experience the lowest levels of REM and deep sleep worldwide. This deficiency in REM sleep, which plays a crucial role in emotional regulation, memory, and problem-solving, may explain why many individuals feel less than their best upon waking.
Additional insights from the report include:
- Night Owl Population: About 59% of Indian Oura Members fall into evening-oriented chronotypes, the highest percentage globally. This suggests that many are naturally inclined to feel more alert and productive later in the day.
- Sleep Timing: Indians typically go to bed around 12:14 AM, one of the latest bedtimes worldwide, while wake times are consistent with global averages at approximately 7:43 AM. This discrepancy contributes to the shorter sleep duration.
- Consistent Sleep Patterns: Sleep timing remains stable between weekdays and weekends, which may contribute to more consistent sleep quality.
- Long Naps: Indian Oura Members take advantage of nap times, averaging the longest naps globally at 53 minutes. Notably, Monday is the most common day for napping, which may reflect the need to recharge after busy weekends.
