OPPO has rolled out a new ColorOS 16 update. The update focuses on photo management. It gives users more control over how they organise and view their photos.
1. Time adjustment
Users can now edit the date and time on their photos. This helps fix incorrect timestamps. It also helps organise older memories in the right order.
2. Hidden albums
ColorOS 16 lets users hide custom albums from the main Photos view. This keeps private moments out of sight. Users get more control over what shows up in their gallery.
3. Batch favourites
The update adds a batch option for favouriting photos. Users can now select and mark multiple photos as favourites in one tap. This saves time compared to selecting photos one by one.
4. Scan text
ColorOS 16 adds a Scan Text tool. Users can extract text from a photo and instantly copy, edit, or share it. For documents, the tool also rotates, straightens, and removes glare or shadows. This makes it easier to create a clean digital copy.

5. Flexible photo view
Users can now switch between Immersive and By Date views in Photos and Albums. The Immersive view is made for visual browsing. The By Date view helps users quickly find a specific moment.
6. Other changes
The update also improves Private Safe. It also changes photo selection. Adding and organising files across formats gets easier, and accidental selections happen less often while browsing.
Rollout and compatible devices
OPPO will roll out the update in phases. The rollout starts on September 1 and wraps up by September 30. It covers the Find X9 Ultra, Find X9 Pro, Find X9s, Find X9, Find X8 Pro, Find X8, Reno16 5G, Reno15 Pro 5G, and Reno15 5G. OPPO notes that upgrade timing may vary by device, and the device order does not reflect any upgrade priority.
