Samsung has officially announced the launch of its Galaxy Tab S12 series in India, with availability starting October 7. The new lineup includes the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra and the Galaxy Tab S12+, both available in Grey and Silver. These tablets aim to deliver an advanced experience, combining impressive performance, long battery life, and the latest Galaxy AI features in an ultra-thin design.
Designed for Productivity
The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra features a 14.6-inch display, while the Galaxy Tab S12+ has a 12.6-inch display, both equipped with Dynamic AMOLED 2X technology that offers peak brightness up to 1600 nits. The Vision Booster feature optimizes brightness in real time, ensuring comfortable viewing across various lighting conditions. Users can take advantage of the Multi Window layout, which lets them split the screen into three sections for enhanced multitasking. For example, they can take notes in Samsung Notes while streaming lectures and using an AI assistant at the same time.
With a slim profile of just 5.1mm, the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra is the thinnest tablet in Samsung’s Galaxy Tab range, while the S12+ measures 5.3mm. Both devices run on an energy-efficient 3nm processor, delivering 61% faster NPU processing, 19% faster CPU performance, and 17% improved GPU power than their predecessors. This performance enhancement is designed to handle demanding tasks like rendering creative projects and multitasking.
The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra offers up to 23 hours of battery life, while the S12+ supports up to 21 hours. Both models charge from 0% to 100% in just 95 minutes with the included 45W adapter. A newly designed 3D Vapour Chamber efficiently manages heat to ensure reliable performance during prolonged use. The series is also IP68-rated for water and dust resistance, adding durability for various environments.
Enhanced Audio and Input Features
Sound quality is enhanced with 4-channel spatial audio technology, providing an immersive experience suitable for streaming, tutorials, or editing. Each model comes with an ergonomic S Pen for precise input, and a Pro Keyboard Cover turns these tablets into a professional workstation, featuring a Galaxy AI Key for quick access to AI assistants.
Pre-Installed Apps and Extended Support
Running on Android 17 with One UI 9, the Galaxy Tab S12 series integrates Galaxy AI to streamline task management. Notable features include Note Assist, which summarizes notes in real time, and a six-month trial of Google AI Pro, which offers access to Gemini for quick clarifications on various topics.
The Samsung Browser aims to improve research efficiency by summarizing open tabs and identifying relevant sources. Users will find that Adobe Photoshop comes pre-installed for professional image editing. Other included apps such as Goodnotes offer a year of free access for note-taking, while LumaFusion is available at a 66% discount for video editing. Clip Studio Paint provides tools for digital drawing, accompanied by a six-month trial and a 20% discount on subscription plans.
