BMW India has opened pre-orders for the first-ever BMW M2 xDrive Turbo Edition, a limited-run performance car inspired by the iconic 1973 BMW 2002 Turbo. The model will be available through authorised BMW dealerships across India on a first-come, first-served basis, with production numbers strictly limited.
The special edition pays tribute to the original 2002 Turbo through a series of distinctive exterior details. Finished exclusively in Alpine White, it features hand-painted BMW Motorsport stripes, a black power dome and the reversed ‘turbo’ script on the bonnet, echoing the design of its 1970s predecessor. A bespoke ‘turbo’ emblem sits beneath the M2 badge, while a carbon-fibre roof, tailgate and rear spoiler add to its motorsport-inspired appearance. Optional 19-inch front and 20-inch rear M Performance forged wheels in Gold Bronze complete the exterior package.

The cabin receives similar treatment, with M Carbon bucket seats, an M Alcantara steering wheel and carbon-fibre interior trim. An exclusive ‘turbo’ badge integrated into the centre cupholder cover further distinguishes the special edition from the standard M2.
Power comes from a 3.0-litre, six-cylinder inline engine producing 353 kW (480 hp). BMW claims a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 3.7 seconds, while the electronically limited top speed stands at 250 km/h. Buyers opting for the M Driver’s Package can raise the top speed to 285 km/h.
The edition draws its inspiration from the BMW 2002 Turbo, introduced in 1973 amid a global oil crisis. Producing 170 hp and capable of exceeding 200 km/h, the original model was a pioneering example of turbocharging in series-production passenger cars. It went on to become an important milestone in BMW’s performance-car history.
With the M2 xDrive Turbo Edition, BMW revisits that legacy through a contemporary performance model combining heritage-inspired styling with modern engineering.
