Kia India has expanded its electric vehicle portfolio with the launch of the Syros EV, its second mass-market electric offering in the country. Priced from Rs 13.49 lakh (ex-showroom) for the 42kWh variant, the electric SUV goes up to Rs 19.99 lakh for the top-spec X-Line Extended Range trim. Bookings are expected to open ahead of deliveries beginning July 30.
The headline feature of the Syros EV is its choice of two battery packs. Buyers can opt for a 42kWh battery with a claimed MIDC-certified range of 443km or a larger 51.4kWh pack that delivers an ARAI-certified range of 526km, making it one of the few vehicles in its segment to cross the 500km mark. Power comes from a 171PS electric motor, while Kia claims the larger battery can sprint from 0-100kmph in 8.1 seconds. The SUV also supports 100kW DC fast charging, allowing a 10 to 80 per cent top-up in 39 minutes.

Kia is placing equal emphasis on ownership benefits. The Syros EV comes with a lifetime high-voltage battery warranty for the first owner, an assured buyback programme offering up to 80 per cent resale value after three years under an introductory scheme, and a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) option that lowers the entry price to Rs 7.99 lakh with battery usage charged at Rs 3.3 per kilometre.
On the feature front, the Syros EV gets a 30-inch Trinity panoramic display, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Harman Kardon eight-speaker audio, ventilated front and rear seats, a panoramic sunroof, Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality and over-the-air software updates. Safety is bolstered by Level 2 ADAS with 16 autonomous driving functions, six airbags and a 360-degree camera.
To support EV ownership, Kia says its K-Charge ecosystem now integrates over 20,300 charging points across 23 charging operators, while its dealer network includes more than 129 DC fast-charging locations and over 275 EV-ready workshops across India.
