The REDMI Note 15 Pro+ is a flagship level smartphone pricing at a very attractive price point with impressive specs. This device positions itself as a premium mid-ranger. It packs high-end features like a massive battery, robust build, and a powerful camera setup, all while undercutting true flagships from Xiaomi’s own lineup (like the Xiaomi 15 series). It aims to deliver near-flagship performance without the premium cost, making it a compelling option in the sub-₹40,000 segment. However, with competition from brands like Realme, Samsung, and even Poco, does it truly stand out?
DESIGN & BUILD
The Redmi Note 15 Pro+ has a premium feel that punches above its price. Measuring 6.44 inches tall, 3.08 inches wide, and just 0.31 inches thick, it weighs around 208g. The phone feels a little wide in the hand, which might make one-handed use slightly less comfortable for users with smaller hands and for narrower competitors. This width contributes to a spacious display experience but can lead to occasional stretching during extended sessions.

The design retains a familiar Redmi aesthetic, with a prominent rear camera bump that resembles the previous generation (Note 14 Pro+). It houses the triple-camera setup in a semicircular module. We received the Mocha Brown variant, featuring a faux-leather back that gives a more premium touch.
Xiaomi dubs it “Titan Tough” with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on the front (Mohs level 5 scratch resistance) and impressive IP69K ratings for dust and water resistance, one of the highest in its class, allowing submersion and high-pressure water jets. This is a step up from many mid-rangers and adds real-world peace of mind. The frame is aluminium, and the overall finish feels solid and provides good grip, though the curved edges of the display.
PERFORMANCE
Under the hood, the Redmi Note 15 Pro+ is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 (4nm process), an octa-core chipset with a prime core up to 2.7GHz, paired with Adreno GPU. Configurations include 8GB/12GB LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB/512GB UFS 2.2 storage, with no microSD card expansion.
This setup delivers solid mid-range performance, handling daily tasks like multitasking, social media, streaming, and light productivity with ease. Gaming is a strong suit, titles like Call of Duty Mobile run smoothly at high graphics and frame rates, with minimal throttling thanks to efficient cooling and the chipset’s capabilities. It’s a noticeable upgrade over previous Snapdragon 7-series chips in efficiency and raw power, though it doesn’t match flagship-level Snapdragon 8 Gen chips in sustained heavy loads.
Running Android 15 with HyperOS 2 out of the box, it promises up to 4 major OS upgrades and years of security patches, ensuring longevity. HyperOS brings fluid animations, customization, and AI features, but it includes some bloatware (pre-installed apps) that can be uninstalled. Benchmarks place it competitively in its segment, with good thermal management during extended use. After using it for a few days, I found it to be snappy and reliable, with no major lag, making it an excellent choice for gamers and power users on a budget.
CAMERA
The camera system packs a new 200MP main sensor (f/1.7 aperture, 1/1.4″ size, with OIS and pixel binning to 2.24μm effective pixels), paired with an 8MP ultrawide (120° FOV). There’s a 32MP front camera for selfies.

The 200MP sensor is a highlight, delivering excellent detail in daylight with vibrant colours, a good dynamic range, and sharp results at full resolution or with binning for everyday shots. OIS helps with stability for photos and 4K video (up to 2160p). Low-light performance is solid thanks to the large sensor and night mode, though noise can creep in extreme conditions.
The ultrawide is decent for landscapes, but softer at edges and struggles more in low light. No dedicated telephoto lens means portrait zoom relies on digital cropping from the main sensor, which is acceptable but not flagship-level. Video recording supports high-quality, stabilized footage, making it versatile for content creators.
Selfies are sharp with natural skin tones. AI enhancements in HyperOS improve scene detection and processing. Overall, it’s one of the best mid-range camera setups, especially for the price, though it doesn’t quite rival dedicated photography phones like Pixels.
BATTERY
Battery life is a standout feature. The Redmi Note 15 Pro+ packs a massive 6500mAh silicon-carbon battery. In real-world use, it easily lasts 1.5-2 days with moderate to heavy usage (streaming, gaming, calls). It has exceptional endurance, thanks to the efficient Snapdragon chipset and large capacity. 100W HyperCharge wired charging is blazing fast, and a full charge takes around 30-35 minutes from 0-100%, with no wireless charging.
VERDICT
The Redmi Note 15 Pro+ is an impressive mid-range smartphone priced at ₹34,999, offering flagship-like features including a 6500mAh battery with 100W charging, a durable IP69K build with Gorilla Glass Victus 2, a vibrant 6.83-inch 1.5K 120Hz AMOLED display, capable Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 performance, and a strong 200MP camera. It’s ideal for battery enthusiasts, gamers, and those seeking longevity, although it has minor drawbacks like a slightly wide feel, familiar camera bump design, some bloatware, and no telephoto lens. Overall, it’s the best option from Xiaomi in the mid-range, providing excellent value for everyday users, making it highly recommended for those upgrading from older models or wanting a balanced device without spending too much. However, serious camera enthusiasts or those wanting the latest flagship specs should look elsewhere.
