Royal Enfield updates Classic 350 with slipper clutch, USB Type-C charging

Royal Enfield has updated its bestselling Classic 350 for 2026, introducing two new rider-focused features aimed at improving everyday usability without altering the motorcycle’s iconic styling or mechanical character. The updated model is now available across all dual-channel variants at authorised dealerships, with prices starting at ₹1,87,434 (ex-showroom).

The most significant addition is an Assist and Slipper Clutch, a first for the Classic 350. The system is designed to reduce clutch effort, making the motorcycle easier to ride in stop-and-go city traffic while also enabling smoother upshifts and downshifts. Royal Enfield says the feature enhances rider comfort and confidence across a variety of riding conditions, including long-distance touring.

Another practical upgrade comes in the form of a USB Type-C fast charging port, allowing riders to charge smartphones and other compatible devices on the move. The addition caters to modern riders who increasingly rely on navigation and connected devices during daily commutes and weekend rides.

Mechanically, the Classic 350 remains unchanged. It continues to be powered by Royal Enfield’s 349cc, single-cylinder J-series engine, known for its tractable low-end torque and relaxed riding character. The motorcycle retains its upright ergonomics, balanced chassis and predictable braking setup, preserving the easy-going riding experience that has made it one of the brand’s most popular models.

The latest update reflects Royal Enfield’s strategy of incrementally modernising the Classic 350 while retaining its timeless design language. By adding contemporary convenience features without changing its signature styling or riding experience, the company aims to keep the Classic 350 relevant in an increasingly competitive mid-size motorcycle segment. The updated motorcycle will be offered in nine colour options across dual-channel variants.
