Nothing’s at it again. After teasing what appears to be a Royal Challengers Bengaluru Edition of one of its phones, the London-based firm is using Pokemon to tease its upcoming products. And this time, the clues appear to point to not one but two devices. Both Nothing’s global X account and Nothing India have shared cryptic pixel-art images featuring Pokemon, prompting fans to speculate about what could be coming next.
Long-time followers of the brand will know that this isn’t unusual. Nothing has developed a habit of using Pokemon as codenames and teasers for upcoming launches. Previous devices have also been preceded by seemingly random Pokemon references, with the internet left to decipher their meaning.
The latest teasers feature two very different creatures: Blastoise and Jumpluff. Blastoise, the heavily armoured water-type Pokemon known for its durability and power, was posted by both Nothing’s global and Indian accounts. Online speculation suggests that the character could be hinting at a rugged smartphone aimed at the global market. Given Blastoise’s tank-like reputation, many believe the device could emphasise toughness, battery life and durability.

Meanwhile, Nothing’s global account also shared imagery of Jumpluff, a lightweight, cotton-like Pokemon. Fans have interpreted that as a teaser for a new pair of lightweight active noise-cancelling earbuds. The association seems fitting, with Jumpluff’s airy appearance lending itself to a compact and comfortable audio product.
Nothing, of course, hasn’t confirmed any of these theories. The company has mastered the art of generating buzz through cryptic posts, often revealing little until the official launch.
Whether the community’s guesses turn out to be accurate remains to be seen. But if Nothing’s past Pokemon references are anything to go by, the teasers are unlikely to be random. For now, Blastoise and Jumpluff have set the speculation machine in motion, and fans are eagerly waiting to see what emerges from the Pokedex.
